If you care about your loved one, do not send them to the Dawsonville location. This place is a complete money grab. Lipstick on a big huge pig. Place looks nice but behind the scenes, it's an absolute mess. My mom is an original resident and as she got older and got more issues they just ignored major signs even though I was asking them to be more diligent and we were willing to pay for it. They would constantly lie to me about her situation. A lot of problems are because many of the medical issues that she had were over their head as the director of resident care. Carolyn the "medical director" is only an LPN. The administrators, the two that we had while she was there, were completely dismissive when you bring up issues. It's all about the bottom line for them.
What was really telling was when my mother was in the hospital near the end of her life. The amount of hospital nurses and medical staff that would tell me do not send her back there because they don't know what they're doing was really eye-opening. On top of that every single healthcare advocate that I talked to was pleading with me to get her out of there but by then it was too late the damage was already done.
I could go on and on, but feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions about this place and I will happily tell you.
My goal in this entire review is to make sure what happened to my mother and my family doesn't happen to anybody else.

Our family member has been a resident of Manor Lake for 6 months now, and I can’t say enough nice things about the staff and the facility. There have been some growing pains as we transition to a new stage of life with new surroundings, but the staff has been nothing but thoughtful, understanding and kind. The staff all know the residents’ names of course, and most call me by name during my weekly visits. The facility itself seems new, with no issues at all with the residents’ rooms. I appreciated that the staff made special arrangements during a couple of inclement weather events this past winter, reminding us that the residents wellbeing is always in their minds. The activity director has a lot to offer residents, including daily devotion and prayer groups, walking club, exercise and stretching classes, along with special visits from local churches, humane societies, and school groups. We are pleased with all aspects of Manor Lake.

Within a short period of residing here, my mom suddenly was claiming there was an invisible demon living in her room. The staff got a prescription for benzos from the pcp that services the facility even though he wasn't her doctor, and dispensed them to her frequently. The admin staff was incompetent, Mom's doctor's office had to repeatedly fax the same orders over that somehow were never found. What I went through in regards to billing the long term care insurance was absolutely ridiculous and anxiety inducing. I brought Mom in to live with me less than a year after moving her in to Manor Lake and we've had zero issues whatsoever. She's happier and healthier than she's been in any facility.
