  John Ferguson made me feel at ease immediately. He understood my grief and confusion at the loss of my wife and carefully guided me through a most difficult day. Every detail was covered, ever form filled out, and all with a caring hand. After going through this, I now consider John a new friend.

  I was invited to a luncheon by Steve Metzger where he explained Baldwin’s various cremation plans very clearly and in a kind manner. I felt at peace to arrange for my own cremation through him so that my loved ones wouldn’t have to. Steve is an honest and compassionate man, and I highly recommend him to make arrangements for you too.

  I worked with Steven Metzger to pre-pay for cremation services. Steve Is very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I am a snowbird and do a lot of traveling. It is very reassuring to know that everything will be taken care of no matter where I am when I pass away. It takes a large burden away from the family. Thank you Steve!

  As a funeral home in Illinois, we contacted Baldwin Brothers as a Trade Partner because we had a client family whose loved one passed away in Florida and services were to be in Illinois. Normally, in a trade agreement, we contact a funeral home near to where the person died to act as our agent. However, there was never any communication between Baldwin Brothers and our funeral home. When we would call to inquire on status of things, we would not receive a return call. Instead, the funeral director from Baldwin Brothers contacted our client family and dealt directly with them. This miscommunication caused confusion and frustration for us and our client. Also, when another funeral home acts as our agent, it is customary for the agent funeral home to charge a trade price. This is because the agent funeral home should have little contact with the client family. As it turns out, we were charged full retail price for the services we requested which resulted in our client family paying a much higher price. Another point to be made is that the client was getting mixed messages from Baldwin Brothers and actually flew from Illinois to Florida for the sole purpose of picking up her father's cremated remains as she was not convinced that Baldwin Brothers would actually have the remains shipped to our funeral home in time for a memorial service being planned in Illinois. As a result of all of this, we, as a funeral home, will NEVER contact Baldwin Brothers for any trade work we may need in Florida!
