I attended youth group here and the Sunday Services of course when I was a teen. I went away to college and came back to the same wonderful people years and years later and came back and got a calling as a youth Sunday School teacher here!! I. Currently attend a different congregation at a different building, (same religion, just another location,) but sometimes we all meet together for holiday parties or concerts or, sadly, a funeral. It is a wonderful feeling to be back. The last time I was back was a couple months ago for a baptism!!! We had cookies afterward and KitKats that were a part of an object lesson. Maybe you had to be there. It is very welcoming! I love this St. Pete church building.

I had the chance to attend the St. Pete congregation with my husband when he was speaking—and I was blown away by how warm and welcoming everyone was. Truly some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with big smiles and genuine kindness. The Spirit was strong, and you could feel that this is a place where people truly care about each other and are trying to follow Jesus Christ.
If you’re looking for a friendly church family, this is it. You’ll feel right at home!

Do we believe in Jesus?
Yes. Jesus is the foundation of our faith. In fact, the full name of our Church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Bible and the Book of Mormon both testify of Jesus Christ, and we cherish both.
This verse from the Book of Mormon reflects our beliefs in Christ: “And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins” (2 Nephi 25:26).

Do we believe in the Bible?
Yes. Very much so. It’s the word of God, a sacred volume of scripture, and required reading for a happy life. Along with the Bible, we also find inspiration in other books of scripture unique to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They all work together to teach us important truths about Jesus Christ.

What can I expect at your Church worship service?
The Church meeting always starts with a welcome and announcements from one of the lay leaders. Next, an opening song by the congregation and prayer offered by one of the members is followed by another hymn while the communion in remembrance of Jesus Christ is prepared and distributed to those who desire to receive it. Then, one or two of the members of the congregation (including youth and children) give talks--sometimes a musical number is performed by a member of the congregation or choir. The lay leader gives some brief concluding words followed by a closing song and prayer.
On just the first Sunday of each month the members of the Church fast for the poor and needy. Instead of speakers a few members of the congregation choose to share their feelings with the others about Jesus Christ and how grateful they are for him.
