If you look at the newest reviews likely posted by employees, friends even high school students, you will notice a pattern. Denise the executive Director, is now under pressure to make it sound like this is a great place again. It’s not a coincidence that two days ago there were five posts by employees/friends, two weeks ago, another push of seven reviews on the same day some with no comment at all! And then notice: the last genuine review was five months ago. Where did all these people come from all of a sudden? I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion whether they have ever stepped in the side this facility or not, but I asked that you read with caution.
One thing, though that I have to totally agree with is that nurse Becky is one of the best things Sarabella has (She is the fifth director of nursing this past year.) and I hope she doesn’t get bullied and leave too. I’ve seen a huge employee turnover since the director was hired last fall to cut cost nursing positions critical to running ALF’s and Memory Care are being vacated. Activities Directors and other supervisory positions gone and yes, as these talented people left due to lack of respect and being overworked position still remain unfilled. I’m sorry that the facility has to result to fake reviews since this was truly a wonderful place to live. if you are considering Sarabella, wait until the A.D. is gone do your research and don’t base it merely on Google reviews. You will not like what you see after you write out that nonrefundable community fee check only to find that your loved ones are not receiving the care you were promised. Don’t waste your hard earned retirement money on this place. They are many ALFs and Memory Care neighborhoods in Sarasota that are fully staffed with happy and respected employees.

I cannot put into words how wonderful SaraBella has been in the care of my husband from his arrival a year and a half ago until now as his health declines. The staff are warm and friendly people who routinely go way beyond the norm. Their ability to provide individual attention to residents is due in part to this being the right size residence for seniors to enjoy a comfortable existence and address their specific needs.

Our family is so grateful for the wonderful care our aunt receives at SaraBella Senior Living. From the moment we first visited, we were impressed by how warm, welcoming, and attentive the staff are. Everyone here truly goes above and beyond to make residents feel comfortable, valued, and at home.
The caregivers are compassionate, patient, and dedicated — they take the time to get to know each resident personally and provide care that feels both professional and heartfelt. We always feel confident that our aunt is in good hands.
There are also so many engaging activities and social events offered throughout the week — everything from crafts and games to exercise classes and outings. It’s wonderful to see our aunt staying active, happy, and connected with others.
We can’t thank the team at SaraBella enough for the kindness and respect they show every day. It’s clear that everyone here truly loves what they do, and it makes all the difference.

Visited my aunt living in memory care here. Was a very nice welcome and check in process to see her. She was very upbeat and talked great about her lunch. She enjoyed the activity that I got to stay and watch. And I noticed her care staff made sure all her needs were met. Really enjoyed the place you all have here. Great place here.

My husband was a resident in Memory Care from May 2024-Oct 2025. I moved my husband to another facility because I was told his needs could no longer be met there. Though Sarabella has an ECC license they don’t operate under it because they don’t want to hire 24/7 onsite nursing which is a requirement. They say it is “not in the budget.”They promise and market long term care but in reality they do not deliver.
In the time we were there it went from a friendly setting with care staff that worked together like a team to a facility where 2 Memory Care Directors quit, 4 Directors of Nursing quit, 2 Activity Coordinators quit, numerous care staff quit because of being constantly short staffed and overworked. The families in Memory care compiled a 6 page report in September 2025 and gave it to the Executive Director listing concerns in the areas of hygiene practices, lack of staff training , lack of supervision, and lack of communication with families. Along with every concern that was listed families provided their suggestions regarding what could improve those concerns. That report was casually dismissed by the ED indicating many of those concerns have been addressed and everyone should just “look forward”. The ED also wrote a newsletter addressed to family members in October that stated it was their unkind comments that have caused staff to leave their positions. The care staff that had some longevity indicated the reason they have left is due to the ED being insensitive and difficult to work with. The ED is focused on filling the building to capacity but doesn’t hire enough staff and properly train them to address the increasing number of residents. It’s a real shame- it was once a very lovely community.
My recommendation is if you are considering this community talk extensively to family members whose loved ones live there. It’s the only way to get a clear picture of what the place is really like currently.
Update: 11/7/2025
Please read the sappy boilerplate corporate response under my review written by Denise Miller, The Regional Director. She says "we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experiences further..." Well the truth is I DID contact her by phone on Friday 8/8/2025. We spoke about concerns I, as well as other family members, were having with the Executive Director and within the facility. Denise Miller said she would think about it and call me back on Monday. I never received a call. She did, however call the Executive Director at Sarabella on 8/8/2025 after speaking with me and told her everything I shared confidentially. The Executive Director stopped me in the hallway on 8/8/2025 to tell me that her boss had called her and I needed to stop slandering her. I then wrote an email to Denise Miller on August 12, 2025 and a second email on September 26, 2025. Denise Miller never responded to any of my attempts to communicate with her. After being ignored 3 times why on earth would I want to waste more time trying to talk to someone who has never followed up with me preiously?
Stay away from this place- they care about filling beds but not about hiring enough staff and training them to care for our seniors. The only time the management personnel came back to the Memory Care unit was for a photo opportunity so they can look good to the public. This place unfortunately has "No Heart"
