  I visited this assisted living last week and it is beautiful with friendly staff who approached us as we walked the building.

  This is the worst facility in Pensacola for memory care. I put my mother in there on February 2025 and we have had nothing but problems. The communication at this facility is absolutely abhorrent. I have called multiple times because of issues and most of the time the issues are not addressed. I can’t get someone to call me back. I’m following when they get so ridiculous. They call me but it’s never when I have called them. On several attempts when my mother‘s toilet was not flushing, nobody would come fix the toilet one day I came in and she had feces at the top of her toilet. I let the front office know and the maintenance know and it continued. I was told it was taken care of. I visited her three days later and there were still feces in the toilet all around the toilet on top of the toilet. Nobody had done a thing to correct it or clean it. Meaning my mother slept in a room with feces 5 feet from her head for three days. Unfortunately, this has happened numerous occasions. There was a time recently that I went by there and I walked into her room. Her bedsheets were soaked in urine, and I brought it to the attention to the staff. I was there at 4 o’clock, which means the broom had been sitting with the urine on the sheets the whole day. I was worried that if I didn’t bring it to the attention of the staff, my mother would be left to sleep in that that night. I’ve recently reached out to The Blake because I was told by a member of Vitas not even a member of The Blake that my mother needed a sitter. My mother is in memory care. We are paying an exorbitant amount of money for memory care. I was told when I put her in there she would be taken care of. She should be safe And now they’re telling me that they cannot take care of her upon further review after I reached out to them. They did not reach out to me. I reached out to them. The Sandra Caples informed me that my mother had fallen in July 3 times that was July. It is now December and they’re just now reaching out to me. And they’re telling me because she’s a fall risk that they need to. I have to hire somebody out of pocket to take care of her on top of the extort amount we are already paying because they cannot take care of her. Also, I went there yesterday and the food is simply atrocious. It was slop on a piece of white tortilla. It literally would’ve turned anybody’s stomach had they seen it. I am so sad that I have to look someplace else for my mother because The Blake at one time was the quintessential Pristine retirement home community in Pensacola. It is fallen from Grace and is troubled so far down. I don’t think it’s fixable. I worry about the sanitary conditions and all the stuff I’ve heard about the permit at the facility where they’ve had to reach out and set traps because there’s mice therealong with the information that I have gathered and I’ve seen firsthand. I worry for the people that are living there
