Everyone at Harvey-Engelhardt were so kind and thoughtful. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of and the family did not have to worry about anything. I especially want to single out Sharon, Ken and Roger who made this most difficult time easy. They explained everything and actually felt like family due to their compassion and commitment to our family. If you ever need their services do not hesitate as they will take care of you, like family.

Ken Luff at H-E provided great service and comfort during a difficult time. Ken was attentive, professional, easily accessible, and followed through with every detail. This family Florida burial was complicated since it involved coordination with and transport from an out-of-state funeral home. From the airport service to the burial follow-up, Ken handled it all with compassion and class. It was a pleasure to work with him and H-E staff.

Very nice staff, however, when I inquired about seeing my father one last time before cremation they told me they’d charge an additional $200, just to view him through a window. How much “staffing” can that possibly take to give me a few minutes more to grieve and say goodbye? Tell me it’s all about the money while you actually tell me it’s all about the money. Do Better.👎

Although this was a very hard thing to go through, the staff made it as easy as possible. Everyone was very kind to us and took great care to understand what we were going through. I would highly recommend them when you need their services.

Frequently Asked Questions About Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral & Cremation Services

Should I choose Burial or Cremation?

Burial in a casket is the most common method of disposing of remains in the United States, although entombment also occurs. Cremation is increasingly selected because it can be less expensive and allows for the memorial service to be held at a more convenient time in the future when relatives and friends can come together. A funeral service followed by cremation need not be any different from a funeral service followed by a burial. Usually, cremated remains are placed in urn before being committed to a final resting place. The urn may be buried, placed in an indoor or outdoor mausoleum or columbarium, or interred in a special urn garden that many cemeteries provide for cremated remains. The remains may also be scattered, according to state law.

Why have a public viewing?

Viewing is a part of many cultural and ethnic traditions. Many grief specialists believe that viewing aids the grief process by helping the bereaved recognize the reality of death. Viewing is encouraged for children, as long as the process is explained and the activity is voluntary.
