I’ve been a member of Impact Health Sharing for three years, and it has truly made a great difference on my life and health. Even with a pre-existing condition, I’m able to use Impact for my medications and telehealth at no additional cost, which has been a huge blessing.
Recently, while traveling in California, I got sick. I immediately scheduled a phone appointment with my doctor in New York, who sent a prescription to a local pharmacy in California. The retail price of the medication was $189, and I only paid $3.77 with my Impact membership. Moments like this remind me how grateful I am for Impact and the peace of mind it gives me wherever I go.
Impact Health Sharing has been reliable, affordable, and truly supportive. I highly recommend it!

I have a family member using this health plan. He was diagnosed with cancer months ago and had surgery and is now in treatment. In spite of his repeated attempts to liaise between this company and the hospital, they have still made no payments, 5 months after surgery. The hospital said if they received no payments towards the thousands of dollars owed for an intensive inpatient surgery, they would have to discontinue treatment, which this company is also refusing to pay. Impact has still done nothing. They claim to be negotiating with the hospital but that is something you do beforehand not after, and certainly not to the detriment of a cancer patient. No one, especially someone with cancer, should be stressed about whether the insurance they paid for will cover their bills or force them to stop treatment. It’s unconscionable. This company should be ashamed. Their practices are completely unethical.

I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer earlier this year. No pre-existing conditions and healthy otherwise. Had surgery to remove the mass from my small intestine in June and the doctors recommended treatment for a year due to the aggressive nature. The way Impact works is a lot of double talk and false advertising – I was approved for the treatment, yet they wouldn’t tell the hospital how much they would cover. My treatment was delayed over a month because Impact told me and the hospital I needed to pay up front and they would reimburse me – but it was over $50K a treatment which I can’t cover. Thankfully the hospital helped me apply for a free drug through a program they have so I am undergoing treatment – Impact won’t even cover the amount in the policy they say they will. Not even the hospital expenses which is getting blood work and the infusion. Because Impact is so difficult to work with, the hospital is now making me pay up front for any scans or treatment I’m having done. Impact’s “strategy” is to turn it over to Amps which is another wing of their company and basically wait it out until the hospital gets tired of it and will settle for paying less. I was told it may be over a year before any progress is made. That’s fine for a onetime thing like a broken bone, but for ongoing treatment it doesn’t work. I was told by reps at Impact after calling “there’s nothing they can do” even after the agent I bought it from checked with higher ups in the company. So the owner can spare me with the “reach out directly” comment he puts in other bad reviews. I was told by their reps that they pay “fair market price” which is based on Medicaid (or Medicare?) pricing. One of the many problems with this is those programs get government funding, so it’s not comparing apples to apples. The hospitals set the prices and don’t care what Impact thinks is fair pricing and now my account is flagged so I have to pre-pay everything and am doubtful I’ll get any reimbursement from Impact. So far I’ve spent close to $11K out of pocket and today I owe $54K and that will go up as I continue with treatments. I was also told by their Amps program not to make payments because it acknowledges I agree to the pricing – the problem with that is the hospital won’t allow me to continue treatment unless I start making payments. My savings is almost wiped out and I’m going to have to do fundraisers to try to pay for my health care. I’m trying to be rational and not emotional leaving this review, but words can’t describe how difficult this has been working with Impact. Getting a bad diagnosis is awful and my surgery was really hard but dealing with how I’m going to pay for it has been worse than fighting the cancer. This is a corrupt company who uses Christian concepts and it’s all marketing double talk. Stay away from companies like this that don’t have regulations and can deny anything they want. America’s health care is broken and companies are taking advantage of people with cheap pricing.

Impact Health Sharing has saved us money for sure….BUT…always a but! I have been given such a run around for a parathyroid surgery it’s unbelievable! I have done more leg work then any patient should have to, asked to be approved over 2 weeks ago, initiated a conference call between the clinic and Impact to get a price agreement last week so basically in last 14 days I have made 8 different attempts on my part to keep ball rolling. Today is my day to sit down and schedule surgery and Impact JUST passed on to a third party called “Care Navigator” and their email stated to maybe reschedule. So frustrating….If you need any procedure done make sure you write down every person you talk to, date and their phone number. (Basically everything Jeff said below in his review has happened to me!). Lastly make sure you read little paragraph at bottom of your impact card with last sentence stating “There is no guarantee of payment or promise to pay. Impact is not a discount card or program.” God help us if a major issue arises.
