- MVMike VuncannonFeb 3, 20261.0This is a paid before and aftercare care program, the only one available at Bancroft elementary school. The service charges full price for weeks when there are regularly scheduled school closings and customer service thus far has ignored requests to address the issue or refund over charges. The program requires an adult to sign children in at the beginning of school, which wouldn't be any issue if there was any place to park to walk a child inside. The streets are barricaded off at drop off time and the closest parking is on street parking in a residential area which is regularly completely full, much less at an increased traffic time such as the beginning of the school day. No communication appears to be taking place between the programs leadership and school leadership to resolve this issue. The company could simply amend their policy so that parents can sign a waiver permitting their child to sign themselves in as is allowed at many area schools and the issue would be resolved.

Last year, we were at another DCPS Champions program where there was a lot to be desired, but the program at Bancroft goes above and beyond. Ms. Cousin, in particular, is near and dear to everyone's heart. She treats every single child as her own. I've heard great things of Ms. Logan as well. Ms. Desiree knows every single child's name, grade and parent-- it's quite impressive.

I have often seen them on their phones, all of them sitting down while the kids play outside. Seen Yelling at kids. I also know of 3 parents that have removed their students from Champions due to the lack of professionalism of the "teachers" employed by Champions. Its very clear its just cheap leader.
