I pray for every child that enters this building that they be set free from this “religion.” Man made theology always indulges the flesh
The major difference here is that Christianity teaches that through Jesus we are completely saved, while LDS theology teaches that through Jesus we are only conditionally saved. Conditional salvation is problematic because it teaches that while believing in Jesus is the first step, you have to do good works and live a good enough life in order to complete the transaction. This ultimately cheapens Jesus’ death on the cross.
If the gospel is true, Christians and Latter-day Saints don’t worship the same God. If the Christian God was once a human and still has a physical body, then who created him? Also, if humans can eventually become gods, then it raises doubts about God being all-powerful and all-knowing. If we can become like him someday, do we really need to obey him?
Christianity makes it clear that the difference between heaven and hell has to do with a person’s relationship to God, not their good works or the good works of their family. It also makes it clear that your place in the afterlife depends solely on Jesus and his gift of salvation, which allows us to be reconciled with God. This gives a person complete assurance of their eternal “destination.”
As the word of God, the Bible is set apart from (and above) every other historical and religious work ever created. Ultimately, our view of the Bible is our view of Truth itself. If the Bible isn’t the complete, inerrant (error-free), unchanging word of God, then it’s not Truth. If the Bible isn’t Truth, then Christianity isn’t true either.
