  My father-in-law moved here after his wife passed away about eight years ago. The staff and residents are like family to him, even though Dad is not the easiest person to get along with. All of the staff go out of their way to help Dad with EVERYTHING, and they let us know when they notice ANYTHING off. Dad raved about the food, too, saying "they really take good care of us in the dining hall here". There are plenty of activities, trips and levels of service. Dad started out fiercely independent and moved through various levels of service as his health changed both up and down. Staff - from the Manager to housekeeping to maintenance to caregivers and admin - made us feel comfortable enough to get away for a month on vacation. The residents are also a wonderful group of people. They look out for each other, cheer each other on and were always reminding Dad to use his oxygen. Dad's actually the second generation in my husband's family to choose Truewood as his Mother-in-law also chose to live here!

  Truewood has been a Blessing to our 81 year old Dad. We had been looking for somewhere that was welcoming, family like, had activities, and where our Dad would feel "at home." Susan has been amazing and now we are starting to get our Dad's medical services onsite. Truewood is always looking to accommodate our Dad and our family as well. The staff is so friendly, and it has been an overall amazing experience. If you are looking to more into independent living or you want a beautiful home for your relative, this is the place! :D

  From day one, Mom felt very welcomed & so did I each time I visited. Susan A. is always available to listen to the concerns of both residents & their family members. She does an excellent balancing job of managing the facility & expectations. The staff are very caring. They compassionately engage with the residents in providing a wide variety of activities for a lovely resort style feel. Love the recent updated renovations too. Overall, I highly recommend the Truewood community, in West Covina, to families approaching lifestyle changes for either their parents or for those who want to enjoy the Golden years in ease & security.

  My loved one, Shirley, lived at Truewood for four wonderful years. The staff were truly amazing — caring, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Truewood feels more like a warm, family-oriented community than just a senior living facility. From the kitchen staff to the caregivers, everyone went above and beyond to make residents feel at home. They offered fun activities, events, and everything you could think of to keep life engaging and joyful. I’m so grateful Shirley had such a safe, happy place to call home. Truewood gave her comfort, companionship, and a true sense of community.
