About

Church
*The San Diego California Temple is currently closed for renovations.* Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.

Somewhat of an eyesore. I feel bad for anyone who lives nearby and has to see it on a daily basis. Not sure what they were going for.

This is one of the iconic buildings in SD. Every time I pass by, the pure white main structure and the unique spire design never fail to catch my eye. During the day, it looks holy and elegant in photos, while at night, the lighting creates a completely different atmosphere. The interior is not open to the public and is mainly used by believers. Generally, visitors can only explore the exterior and courtyard areas. Even though access is limited to the outside, the beautiful architectural style and serene ambiance are still highly appealing. It's a popular spot for wedding photoshoots. PS: The exterior is currently under renovation and not accessible. It is advisable to call and confirm before planning a visit.

One of if not the most beautiful temples the church has ever made. Temple workers are always great. I love the peace you feel going to the temple and always love driving it on the freeway.
