This review is long overdue. My daughter started Kindergarten in August and I can honestly say her social skills and academic readiness were above grade level expectations and a huge part of that is because of Bright Horizons.
When I was looking for daycares, I was super anxious about family daycares and who would be around the kids, lack of cameras, etc. I toured multiple centers before this one and either they were full, the waitlist was long, or I just didn’t feel comfortable. When I came across Bright Horizons, the Director, Laura made me feel at ease immediately. What really sold me was knowing there were always multiple teachers present in each classroom, so the kids were never left with just one staff member alone. I also did not see male staff and this made me feel at ease.
My daughter had never been in daycare before and she had a tough time adjusting the first couple weeks, but the staff here really put in the work to help her. They comforted her, slowly introduced her to the other kids, kept her busy, and truly cared about making her transition easier. I also loved that they rotated activities throughout the day AND kept parents updated regularly, from what she ate to what she worked on throughout the day.
She transitioned through 3 classrooms over the years with her age group and she loved every single one of her teachers: Ms. Linda, Ms. Debbie, Ms. Monique, Ms. Rachael, Ms. Sandra, Ms. Ann and Ms. Dru. Many of the teachers at BH have been teaching for 20 years. That’s impressive and shows the low turnover rate. During her time at BH, my daughter learned Spanish, letters, numbers, and at the end of each semester they provided progress reports that showed her milestones and growth. It really felt intentional and structured.
Bright Horizons felt like more than daycare, it felt like the best investment I could’ve made in her development. I always felt she was safe, loved, and genuinely cared for. The director is hands-on, visible, and makes sure the campus stays secure, not because there have been any serious concerns, but because she truly wants parents to feel secure leaving their kids there.
Even now, when we drive by, my daughter still points out the school and talks about wanting to go back to visit her old teachers. At her new school, we get constant compliments about how well-mannered and ahead she is academically and I absolutely believe Bright Horizons played a huge role in preparing her.
I will forever be grateful for this center and all they did to prepare my daughter for Kinder and for sharing so much genuine love and care for her.
