Our experience with Valley Memorial Park Funeral Home was exceptional. Mr. Eugene Han provided exemplary service in a caring, kind and extremely professional manner. It made the process of managing our dear daughter’s services bearable. We would, without hesitation, highly recommend this funeral home.

I should have listened to Liz's review. For over 60 years, Valley Memorial was a local pillar we could trust, but that legacy is gone. It’s heartbreaking to see a place that once had a true community feel be swallowed up by a private corporation. They still try to market themselves as 'local,' but don't be fooled—they are now part of a group with nearly twenty locations across California, Washington, and Oregon. They throw the word 'forever' around, yet they’ve reportedly cycled through more staff this year than anyone can keep track of. It's clear this is now about profit margins and corporate expansion, not the people of Novato. If you’re looking for the friendly, familiar faces that cared for our town since 1960, you won't find them here anymore.

These people were no help. In fact they made a very difficult time for our family when staff was out of town and had to arrange with a morbid mortician that was like a used car salesperson how she described your lost loved one about the body and viewing and ignored original plans . Adding insult to have a meeting with staff. Utter rubbish and non productive for our needs. She also lied about a priest that was available for us since he has been a retirement home. She made a careful priority list. First psy us the pray then pick up remains. How caring. Owner that said he would step in did not. I had to make different plans. I had to go to another funeral home in addition to the fact that they added more grief when they were talking to Adobe Creek and that’s a privacy issue. My mom brought business to Novato on the 70s 80s and put Novato on the map. Old town would not be what is today. They didn’t even have the decency to offer a plot . Disgraceful treatment.

Writing a review about a cemetery is not something someone routinely does, and I have to admit I needed to wait a couple of months since my mother's passing to take on this task. However, I felt I owed it to the outstanding individual who assisted myself and my family during one of our darkest days. First, it goes without saying the location is idyllic; situated in the rolling hills of the northern edges of Marin county, one would really expect nothing less - it is a beautiful, peaceful, tranquil location; the term "final resting place" could not be more appropriately applied. That being said, it was not the location which made the experience so satisfying, it was the actions of one individual, Melanie Flores, who provided us with so much comfort and solace during this entire endeavor - she was outstanding. Compassionate, empathetic, attentive yet with no trace of condescension or trace of insincerity. Practical, pragmatic, and discerning in her recommendations, she did not allow us to be "guilted" into making overly emotional choices but choices we could afford, live with and yet honor our loss appropriately. In short, she was wonderful. She personally took charge of helping to prepare my mother for her final rest. She was flexible, attentive and in the end you almost felt she had known my mother for decades. Her caring and professional demeanor made the ceremony the success it was. I would unequivocally recommend her services. You can certainly feel comfortable asking for her assistance and I fully believe you will not be disappointed by her efforts. Thank you once again for all you did for us Melanie.Your efforts were peerless.
