  This is a review for the memory care at The Montera. My mom has been there for almost 6 years. Not much has improved in that time, other than a remodel of the hallways. You can tell by the look on the faces of the staff that they don’t like working there. My mom’s room always smells like urine and the floor is sticky and disgusting. Even if I give them a head’s up that I’m coming, they don’t clean her up. I think they shower her once a week. It took forever just to get a shower chair for her. Family should be able to go and enjoy a visit, but the problems are so obvious and disturbing that I end up leaving in tears because I don’t want to leave her there. I have tried escalating the issues, but I always get the same run around. For almost $10K a month, you’d think they could hire more staff instead of increasing the care and outsourcing everything. I have two stars because there are some kind caregivers that really seem to care about her wellbeing.

  I continue to be thoroughly impressed with the care provided to the residents at The Montera, particularly those residing within Connections for Living (Memory Care). Seeing to the every day, every hour, needs of the residents is a huge task that can only be accomplished through the competency and overall professionalism of the entire staff. Caregivers, medical technicians, activity personnel, maintenance personnel, front office personnel, food preparation personnel, housekeeping and laundry personnel and others all work together seamlessly to ensure that the best possible care is provided to all of the residents. The staff at The Montera does a fantastic job! I have been visiting my loved one in Memory Care now for over two and a half years. During that time has everything always been 100% perfect? Of course not! In this type of environment that realistically just isn’t possible. But what is truly amazing is seeing, on a day to day basis, how the staff works together at all levels to quickly resolve problems before they can turn into major issues. The overall care, love and compassion shown to the residents by the entire staff is truly exceptional. For anyone looking for a senior care facility I highly recommend you consider The Montera.

  My visit to Bonita Villa Senior Living was a great first impression warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and residents who truly seemed happy and engaged

  Our company recently performed maintenance cleaning at Montera senior living in La Mesa. I was very impressed by the facility and the staff. The residents were very friendly and we enjoyed talking with them while we worked. We even had the opportunity to listen to one very talented pianist as we finished our services. As we finished up I was so impressed that I inquired information for my in-laws. I highly recommend looking into Montera for safe and friendly senior living experience .

  Fred was there for less than a month at the end of his life. He was well cared for in the memory care unit. They have activities all day long and the care givers are attentive and caring.
