I cannot recommend Conejo Mountain more highly. They have helped with the arrangements of both my parents. I have found them first and foremost kind. In addition to that they are efficient, knowledgeable, willing to come alongside in whatever capacity is needed and have always had our families best interest in mind. Additionally, the grounds are beautiful and well kept, the office calm and has a nice atmosphere. It has been a joy to work with them.

Conejo Mountain is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The funeral service for my mom was absolutely perfect — I couldn’t have asked for a more comforting setting to say goodbye. Every person we worked with was kind, compassionate, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Their warmth and care made a heartbreaking day a little easier to bear. Thank you, Conejo Mountain, for giving my mom such a beautiful farewell and for treating our family with so much love and respect.

Initially the experience was excellent. We met with the team and got our price quote. We made adjustments as necessary. We were even going to purchase a casket somewhere else to save money and they were able to match the price. So far so good.
The day of the funeral we showed up early as planned to have our private family time before the funeral started. That’s when things started slipping. First, as we drove in, there were no signs directing us to the chapel or identifying where our service would be as there are multiple chapels. Many friends and family mentioned driving around before they could find the service.
Next, no one from CM closed the chapel door behind us, and guests started arriving minutes after we entered so we had no time to spend privately in advance of the service. Additionally, no one told us where to find the pins with fabric on them, so the rabbi had to hunt them down. They also were supposed to provide us with a memorial candle before we left, which no one did, and lastly there really was no one available during the service to talk to or ask questions.
Thankfully both services went well afterwards. That night was when we realized we had no candle and Caitlin was kind enough to drive it out the next day.
I hope that they button up their communication and work on the details a little more. The first two were the most frustrating, as we just wanted family time to be peaceful and quiet. Instead we were getting calls & texts guiding people on where to go and then didn’t have the short time before the ceremony to spend quietly with the family, which left us taking care of others instead of having that time for ourselves.
