**update** I reached out to Champions family support and was immediately contacted by Alyssa. She listened attentively and assured me that proper coaching was put into place w|all staff on how to communicate effectively and efficiently to the children which is very much appreciated and I will trust that my children are in good hands from here on out. Thank you Alyssa and Champion family support ❤️**
Prior to the most recent weeks, Champions was a program that I was completely comfortable sending my children to under Miss Indigo and her team’s care. She was always polite, communicated well if any issues or concerns, and I feel that she took time to learn the students and their behaviors which is important especially when you have a child on the spectrum. Recently, she resigned from her role and I was very sad when she did but trusted that Champions would bring in another great director that could be trusted. So far, this has not been the case. I started to get daily complaints about my son, who is again on the spectrum, of not “listening”. An issue I’m well aware of and work with him at home. I make sure to tell them that if this or any issue occurs, to please give me a call and the issue gets corrected immediately. Miss Indigo was always good at reaching out to me anytime there were issues, which were not often. I had to explain to them that he was on the spectrum which I was told by one of the team members that she was unaware 🚩 a few days ago, I pick my children up from the program, with no complaints from any of the staff. We get home and they tell me about a staff there telling them that they have “smart mouths and if they continued to be mean, she was going to be mean”. I immediately reached out to champions, which they agreed was inappropriate to speak to children that way, and told me it would be reported. The next day I dropped my children off, I was able to speak with that staff myself. She of course denied it, which I explained that I knew my children were not lying because they don’t hear ppl speak that way and it’s not something they would just come up with. She apologized and even stated she wouldn’t speak to my children, another 🚩. I had to explain to her that I’m not asking her to not do her job, I’m just asking that she not speak to any of the children in an unprofessional manner. Fast forward to later that day, I get a call accusing my son of cursing at another child. Most definitely out of character but I know that children can be rambunctious so I spoke with him about it by phone. I go to pick him up, and they write on the report that he cussed at a teacher and student. The staff at the moment says that she was unaware it was supposedly said to a teacher, then proceeded to say that it was said to the director after she just told me she was unaware 🚩 so I asked my older son did he hear his brother speak this way because again it’s not in his character, in which my oldest son stated “no mom and I was with him all day”. At that moment, quite a few of the other kids in the program started coming up saying that they never heard him say any curse words neither. She got upset at the other children and told them not to speak to parents, when I speak with all of the children often when picking mine up and it’s never an issue. I refused to sign the report because it was evident that this was false reporting. She then proceeds to defend the staff that spoke inappropriately to my children saying that it’s not something that she would do, after I explained as a concerned parent why I knew that my children were not lying about that ordeal. The entire situation made me uncomfortable, and I’m not not comfortable sending my children back because I fear that they are being retaliated against for speaking about the staff’s unprofessionalism.

My kids really enjoy their time here and they love all the staff members too. It’s nice to see them engaged with humans instead of screens when I pick them up.
