- EWErin WilliamsOct 3, 20251.0My family had to move out of state suddenly. I had signed up my daughter for champions summer program and canceled her attendance since we were moving. Champions still charged me for a $60 fee even though my daughter never attended. I emailed and asked them kindly to remove the charge due to the circumstances. They did not remove the charge and have since sent the balance to a collections agency. I would never use this company in the future. What a horrible way to treat families. There is no need to charge a fee when my daughter never even attended their program. A registration fee would assume some type of service was rendered which it wasn’t. I’m shocked that a company who claims to be about kids and families would do this.
- PPPayamMay 7, 20241.0Unfortunately, our experience with the Champions (Parent company KinderCare) was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE, and we feel we should warn other parents. We had concerns about staff having inappropriate discussions with our 6 year olds. The staff's response was to target our child and repeatedly punishing him for things he didn't do. The situation escalated when they made false allegations against us, which thankfully, the OVPD stepped in. We should have seen the red flags from the beginning, such as consistent understaffing, which hints at bigger management issues at KinderCare. We're sharing our story to caution other families to carefully consider this program and hoping KinderCare would address these serious issues. No child or family should ever endure what we faced.
