Even for non-members, there is a lot of peace and quiet to be found in the courtyards and gardens outside the temple. It is an absolutely wonderful place. A couple notable events, for instance, are the Temple Christmas Lights and Easter Pageant they arrange!

- NHNic HolladayJan 23, 20265.0Holy wow, this place is special at all times of the year. Just visit the grounds, it's open to the public and there are benches and shaded areas. The reflection pool is where I proposed to my wife. The flowers are seasonal and are updated accordingly. If you come for the Easter pageant, a couple of years ago they invested in everything related to that, so it was really great. When you're seated, it's in a part of the lawn that was about 10' lower than the rest and it kept it cooler. The Christmas lights are really special, and they have many displays that recount the birth of Jesus Christ. There are little plaques set up that give New Testament scripture along with each of the scenes. Just be warned it can be a bit crowded, but the majority of people were very nice. Wednesdays are especially busy as many of the youth groups in the area make this their destination. I love their many manger displays that they set up at the visitor center. It really makes you ponder how each of the countries celebrates the tradition. There is a visitor center that anyone can enter to learn more about their faith, or just look at the pretty things.
