Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are considered houses of God, a place of holiness and peace separate from the preoccupations of the world. They provide a place where Church members make formal promises and commitments to God. They are also the place where the highest sacraments of the faith occur — the marriage of couples and the "sealing" of families for eternity. Temples serve as the only place where ceremonies such as baptism and eternal marriage can be performed on behalf of those who have died. Temples point Latter-day Saints to Jesus Christ and their eventual life with Him.

From a non-Mormon visitor’s perspective, the Gilbert Arizona Temple is best experienced as a work of exceptional craftsmanship and serene design rather than as a religious destination. Set in Gilbert, the temple immediately stands out for its symmetry, pale stone exterior, and finely detailed art-glass windows that catch the desert light, all surrounded by immaculately maintained gardens that feel calm and welcoming. While the interior is not open to the public outside of rare open-house periods, the exterior alone offers plenty to appreciate—subtle desert-inspired motifs, precise stonework, and a sense that every element was built with care and intention.

It’s great how this temple is built near the freeway for viewing much like the San Diego temple so it’s easy to spot and visit. Beautiful design, clean area and surrounding area, and a pleasure to visit
