Selecting a proper memorial is an emotional task. Then, the abundance of options can make the choices somewhat overwhelming if you are not speaking to an experienced memorialist. At Creative Monument, we share our knowledge with you in a way that keeps your options clear.
Very disappointed in the customer service and workmanship.
We had an issue during the install process - their employees removed two vases from the existing base that were not supposed to be removed. They reattached them using improper tape (unbeknownst to us), and two weeks later the vases are detached/loose. When I contacted Pam for them to correct the problem, I was informed that improper tape was used because they were not expecting to reattach vases that day and they would (1) go to the cemetery, which was only 10-15 minutes away, when it aligned with a future delivery, with no timeframe of when that might be, or (2) I could go by their office to pick up the proper mounting tape and go to the cemetery to reattach the vases myself. I live an hour and a half away, as she knows.
This was entirely their error, yet the burden was placed on us to fix it or wait indefinitely for them to go back at their convenience, with no guarantee our vases, purchased through the monument company previously, would still be there when they returned for their next delivery. This should have been an easy email exchange with their willingness to run back over and reattach our vases promptly. Sadly, it has not been.
For work involving loved ones' memorials, this level of carelessness and lack of accountability is unacceptable.
* EDITED TO RESPOND TO THE COMPANY'S RESPONSE
I appreciate your response, but it is not accurate. Unfortunately your company's error in removing the vases was corrected only after I sent you a final email asking you to correct the issue within a certain time frame, attaching the contract of work to be done, which wasn't removing vases, and writing a review. Before I posted a review, which is the first review I have ever posted, your response to my inquiry asking when it would be fixed was "I don't know."
Additionally, in response to your post:
1. I was the sole person working with you on this monument. I paid for the monument and the two vases. Your employees took direction from a "person at the cemetery" to remove secured, existing vases from the base of the monument, although removing the vases was not in the contract for work to be done. You had my phone number to call or text me if there was any question. No one was authorized to make decisions except me. It seems more likely true that they were removed by your employees in error when they began replacing the tablet.
2. I was given less than 24 hours' notice the tablet was being delivered. I advised you via email that I would like to be present and I could be there the following day, but you would not reschedule the delivery. Your response to me was - and I am quoting from your email: "your presence isn’t required. I completely understand wanting to be there, but the installation will move forward as scheduled."
3. Your employees knew they made a mistake, but I was not notified (1) that the vases were removed in error when they were there for the install of the tablet or (2) that they "used what they had on the truck," not expecting that they would be reattaching vases, and didn't use the manufacturer-issued mounting tape. I had to learn that myself when I was at the cemetery and the vases were already loose/detached. The lack of communication was disappointing.
I appreciate your employee driving ten minutes back to the cemetery to fix their error, but the problem should have been corrected promptly, without the unprofessional back and forth.
