Since KinderCare took over, the quality of care and overall environment have declined significantly. Communication throughout the transition was poor, and it quickly became clear that profit was being prioritized over the well-being of the children and staff. Teacher turnover has increased, meals have declined in quality, and the level of care my son received was VERY disappointing. I couldn’t get him out of there fast enough. It’s unfortunate to see such a wonderful community center lose its heart and focus on the families it serves.

As soon as the acquisition by kindercare happened, the quality of care tanked. We were told on 8/6 not to drop off our kids due to staff shortages. The food quality is awful, they offer processed and sugar-loaded meals and snacks, for example: potato chips, and craisins with 21g of added sugar per portion. On 8/7, these craisins were the only thing offered to the kids for breakfast, per the logging app. We just got informed that kids won’t be getting any outside time for 2 weeks in August due to construction on the playground, which goes against licensing regulations. Such a shame how a great place turned south this quickly. To add insult to injury, we’re still paying “boutique learning” fees, 400$- 1000$ more than other kindercare centers in the area for the same age group.

Our experience at this daycare became incredibly stressful after it was bought out and mismanaged from the start. Communication was inconsistent, billing was often incorrect, and there was a constant sense of chaos that put extra stress on both parents and kids. We would sometimes get messages the morning of saying there wasn’t enough staff, leaving us scrambling to find backup care on short notice. Ultimately, we had to pull both of our children out because the environment had become so unstable. Even our kids noticed the difference, when asked if they miss their old school, they say no, which speaks volumes about how stressful it had become for them too. What should have been a safe, supportive place ended up being a source of anxiety and disruption for our whole family.

As a parent of 2 children who were enrolled at Interbay Kindercare, I quickly removed my children after Kindercare took over and decimated this strong tight knit community. I won’t go into how terrible Kindercare is as a business, has zero concern and care to take care of our children - the other reviews say it exactly how it is. And as anyone can tell Kindercare is just copy and pasting their “response” of each review which is exactly how they communicated to families who had deep concerns of their children’s care when enrolled, just a generic corporate copy and paste. You guys should be so deeply ashamed of yourselves, why are you even in this industry if you don’t actually take the time to be a human, this is an industry of CHILDCARE - read it, CHILDCARE - take a minute to actually transparently respond to people’s reviews.

Like many families everywhere, my husband and I work full-time and rely on dependable, quality child care for our four-year-old. In May, KinderCare bought the independent center he has attended most of his life. Since the transition, more than 15 teachers quit because of pay and working conditions. Families were asked with increasing regularity to keep children home or pick them up early because of staff shortages. Fresh meals were replaced by prepackaged food. Communication is nearly nonexistent from KinderCare. It's as if they've never done such an acquisition before! We are dismayed by their obvious priority of profit above quality care and working conditions. We have since moved our child and would not recommend this center.
