We started here because it was the only daycare with availability for our 4 month old for the start date we needed (which probably should have tipped us off, but we had no other options). We ended up pulling him out after a month because one of his teachers displayed a particular lack of patience for him that made us feel bad for leaving him there every day. Our kid is a little fussy (what baby isn’t?) — not like colic mind you, just not the easiest. Picking him up every day, we would be told that he had a “bad day” in a way that made us feel like they expected us to change something about it. They would leave him in his little stroller all day long because apparently it was the place where he would fuss the least. Hours and hours of being wedged in his little seat, and by the end of the day he’d be soaked with sweat looking exhausted and sad. I understand that this job must be difficult, but I find it hard to believe that he is anywhere close to the most difficult baby they have ever experienced. Or if he is, then they have not been at this for very long. Neither possibility is good. As a side note, my wife once witnessed this teacher telling another baby to “shut up”.
