Primrose School at Cahoon Commons is an accredited daycare located in the Chesapeake area that offers infant, toddler, preschool, pre-kindergarten and after school programs. For over 40 years Primrose preschools has been a trusted household name and a nationally recognized daycare provider committed to forging a path that leads to a brighter future for all children.
We’ve been with Primrose for a little over two years, and overall it has been a very positive experience for our son. The facility is exceptionally clean and feels more like a school than a traditional daycare — the classrooms, organization, and overall layout really stand out. Staff turnover is very low and the teachers my son has had have all been friendly, attentive, and engaged. They also follow a structured curriculum that truly supports learning and development.
Before choosing Primrose, we toured several other daycares. Although Primrose costs about $500 more per month than many of the other options, we felt the difference was justified by the infrastructure, cleanliness, and overall quality of the facility and program. It’s also an easy access to highway through Dominion Blvd toll bridge which made drop-offs and pick-ups easier.
The main downsides are that they close for several days throughout the year more often than many other daycares we considered — and we do wish they stayed open until 6 p.m. instead of closing at 530pm.
Overall, despite a few drawbacks, we’ve had a great experience and feel that Primrose has been great

I wouldn’t put my children into this school if it was the last school in the area. The level of care and professionalism are way below what any parent should expect. There were serious issues with supervision, poor communication from the staff, and a clear lack of concern when problems were brought up. My child’s well-being was not in any way prioritized. I genuinely hope they make changes for the sake of the children in their care, but I cannot recommend this place to any parent looking for a safe and supportive environment.

If I could leave a ZERO STAR REVIEW, I would! This place is disgraceful and shaming small children. You are a disgrace and I hope those involved lose their license. DISGUSTING.
