Our founder was Dr. Robert J. Amory, who was called to pastor Indian Creek Congregation Christian Church in 1960. In January 1963, Indian Creek members voted to be an to be an Independent Baptist Church. Welcome was started in Norfolk in January 1970, as a mission of Indian Creek. Then we moved Welcome Baptist Mission to Kempsville Road in September 1975, when Victory Baptist voted to merge with Indian Creek, therefore we have two locations with services.
