- HBHayley BartleAug 21, 20255.0My 4 year son attended chesterbrook (Aldie location) and really liked it there. He was always telling me about the different activities, experiments, crafts, etc. that he got to do during the day and he especially loved “show and share” Friday where he and his classmates got to bring in toys from home and show then to the class and then share them with each other. He can be a handful at times, but the teachers and staff always knew how to calm him down quickly in a positive way. I was nervous about putting my son in a new school, but he fit right in really fast as the staff made him feel very welcomed. The principal, Heather, is especially wonderful. She’s very accommodating, flexible, and responsive. You can also tell she really cares about all of the kids.

One day when they sent a pic of my child doing an activity, I saw there were adult scissors on a table near him where any of the kids reach for it. On a Friday when I came to to pick up his blanket and sheet to take home to wash, I noticed all the blankets and sheets were in a pile as opposed to each child's designated cubicle. The teachers don't seem engaged with the kids and I also noticed that there was a new teacher every couple of weeks. I also noticed a change in my son's attitude; he was quieter and didn't seem happy. When I expressed all of my concerns to the principal she said things will change and unfortunately they didn't. So I took my son out of there and enrolled him in another school. That was the best decision I made.
