As a former Kindercare kid (on the east coast in the 80s/90s) and having 2 children who attended both Northgate and Woodinville locations (recently moved and didn't even hestitate to go to the Kindercare in my new city) from 3 months to present (school age now), I can say without a doubt that Kindercare is a great place for childcare, socialization, and educational development.
Ms. Karen and Ms. Tara are kind, accessible, and thoughtful Director/Assistant Director. My youngest recently was in the infant classroom and the teachers in that classroom were amazing! So much so that my little one still waves to them on his way in and out each day.
My oldest has formed life long friendships with fellow kids, loves going to the center, and is a well rounded child in an Elementary school setting. I know Kindercare was instrumental in her development into elementary school. Give the center a tour today!

We sent our sensitive 2.5 year old to day care for the first time after only being cared for by family members. Because of her nature and not having as much socialization (thanks, Covid), she did take a few weeks to adjust. But the director and all the staff we have met clearly are dedicated to early learning and have a heart of gold. They really made sure that the met our daughter where she was, went the extra mile to make sure she was comfortable, and have always elicited the highest confidence in us that she is having a great time at school. Our daughter frequently mentions her teachers, names all her dolls after her teachers, and loves her classmates. We have the greatest respect for the staff, which is only further reinforced by how much our daughter values and adores the staff and her time here.

We joined Kindercare as a referral from another family in late November of 2020. We were in absolute chaos with the kids home and trying to get anything done. One of the main things we cared about was how they were handling covid protocols. Which they did really well! Each drop off was temp, questions, and hand cleaned. Only one family could walk up and everything was handled outside of the facility. The kids had their little pods and there wasn't any overlap. After feeling comfortable with the covid process, then came how the kids felt and their comfort level.... I have never seen my kids so happy. My 4 yr old son, started to refer to his friends as "brothers" and would tell me all the things he did in class in built with them.
This school isn't some stuck up community but filled with real people and my kids were thrilled to be there. I ended up even having "Mom" friends because of the relationships my kids were building with their friends. How special.
The app they use to document things helped me as a "helicoper" parent feel very comfortable too. They would send potty updates, food consumption notes, and photos/videos of the kids daily.
We moved to AZ in March and one of the hardest things was leaving this community.
Thank you KC Woodinville. We miss you daily.

It's been impossible to get all the details, but our son was frightened by another child at this pre-K to the point that he had night terrors and would start shaking and crying at the thought of going back. The staff tried to stonewall us when we asked questions. That's the gist of it.
More detail: The staff downplayed the incident, at first saying nothing happened, then on persistent questioning that another boy yelled, then that a developmentally delayed child started screaming, then that the child stopped what he was doing to come across the room specifically to scream at our son. We don't know how long it took staff to respond or what their initial response was. But we know our son cried hard for a long time and asked for his mom. They did contact us but, to reiterate, they told us they weren't sure what was wrong and wanted to to try to calm him down. They did, and we later found out it was by having one teacher stay with him the rest of the day. My wife called to ask how he was doing and was treated dismissively, saying that she should have accepted no news as good news. That's wrong. They should have called with an update. But now I wouldn't trust what they say anyway. That night he had night terrors 3 times, for the first time in nearly 3 years. The next two mornings he was genuinely frightened by the thought of going back and we kept him home. Then we pulled him out. How they handle this, including refunding our money, remains to be seen.
We moved our son here after a year and a half at another pre-school where the worst experience he had was first-day jitters.
It sounds like they have special needs kids mixed in with rest, and that they really aren't prepared to manage that. And making matters worse they are dishonest and condescending.
