Normandy Park KinderCare is an exceptional facility. It's run by hardworking people who deal with a wide spectrum of children with differing needs. Our 4-year-old son was enrolled in Normandy Park KinderCare from October to February (five months) after transferring from the Northgate KinderCare in the Seattle area. At first, our son wasn't happy to transfer from a larger facility to a smaller one, but over time, his opinion changed drastically. The leadership (Ms. Connie and Mr. Matt) did their best to accommodate our son's difficult transition, like rewarding him for good behavior and giving him time to adjust when he was having a hard time. The teachers (like Ms. Jackie and Ms. Maria) were kind and caring to our son. A smaller staff and classroom meant more hands-on time with our son to help him adjust to the facility and grow with his classmates. They were always compassionate and helpful, and nourished our son's ability to learn. We've since moved from Burien and are attending a new preschool outside of the KinderCare umbrella. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't miss the care and convenience provided to us by the Normandy Park KinderCare staff. We would definitely enroll again if we were in the area, even if just for school-age care. Also, we're a military family, meaning the facility is MCCYN (Military Child Care Your Neighborhood) friendly.

Ashley is amazing you’re hard work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you for everything you do at the center. And also wanted to say thank you to Ro always cleaning and keeping everything sanitized.

As a family member of a child attending this center, I want to share some concerns regarding my nephew’s experience. I want to acknowledge that the teachers and classroom staff work extremely hard and are clearly dedicated to the children. Unfortunately, leadership is lacking. As noted in prior reviews, the director is largely absent from day-to-day operations, and many responsibilities fall on staff without proper guidance. There have been multiple occasions where my nephew was placed in an opening classroom with over 15 children and only one teacher. Cleanliness and organization are also concerning in areas not visible to families, and procedures do not appear to be consistently followed. The front lobby and overall upkeep rely heavily on already overworked staff. Even shared spaces such as cubby areas are often disorganized, and during a recent pickup, the director’s office appeared extremely cluttered. This center has strong employees who care deeply about the children, and the assistant leader is often present and helpful. However, the center would greatly benefit from more consistent, accountable leadership. Upper management needs to take a closer look at how the center is operating behind the scenes. I’ve tried to stop by and speak with the manager but it seems like they’re never there the whole day?

I highly recommend kindercare Normady Park. As a former preschool helper and Nany growing up, I have very high standards for childcare and unfortunately my daughters 1st preschool close to our hm was a horrible and upsetting experience. My daughters godmother found KinderCare Normandy Park for us and the welcome and energy we saw and felt from all the staff members including the kids, made us know we found our preschool despite the commute. It’s been over a year and not only does my daughter love it here but I always feel good when I drop her off and especially when I pick her up. All the staff are always amazing and easy to communicate with as well as super accommodating. My family is very grateful for kindercare. Pearl
