  Complete lack of transparency on the waitlist. We paid the fee but never got clarity on our status, it honestly felt like a waste of money.

  Evergreen Academy Montessori has been such a wonderful experience for our family. As a first-time mom returning to work, I was incredibly nervous about putting my baby in daycare at around 3 months old, but the team here made the transition so much easier. From the very beginning, the environment has felt warm, welcoming, and supportive. The teachers and admin staff are so kind and caring, and it’s clear they truly love what they do. They always take a few minutes to chat during drop-off and pick-up, which makes me feel connected and reassured about how my little one’s day is going. The staff always rave about my little one and how cute and wonderful they are. Warms my heart. One of my favorite things is receiving pictures throughout the day. It’s so comforting to see my little one smiling, playing, and being well cared for while I’m at work. I also really appreciate how the teachers partner with parents and share Montessori activities we can try at home. It’s been so special to learn simple ways to support my child’s development and continue some of the same learning and exploration outside of school. I’m so grateful for the care and attention the staff provides, and it has given me such peace of mind knowing my baby is in such good hands. I would absolutely recommend Evergreen Academy Montessori to other families looking for a nurturing, supportive environment for their children.

  Finding the right daycare for our children was a challenging journey, especially after a disappointing experience with a previous "academy" in the area. However, discovering Evergreen Academy in Mountlake Terrace, under the leadership of Joanne Milan, has been nothing short of a blessing for our family. From the moment we first toured Evergreen Academy, it was clear that this was the place we had been searching for. Joanne Milan is not just an administrator—she is a true childcare expert, deeply committed to the well-being and development of the children in her care. Unlike other daycares that feel more like businesses than places of learning, Evergreen Academy is focused on real STEM learning and life skills, with teachers who are not only experienced but passionate about early childhood education. The difference between Evergreen Academy and our previous daycare is night and day. Our last daycare was plagued by constant sanitary issues, unqualified teachers, and an administration that seemed more interested in running a business than in caring for children. In contrast, Joanne and her team have created an environment where our children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn every day. Since starting at Evergreen, we’ve experienced none of the problems that were so common at our previous daycare—no crying drop-offs, no issues with teachers, and no behavioral concerns with other kids in their classes. The dedication and professionalism of Joanne and her staff have made a world of difference for our family. The distance we travel to get to Evergreen Academy is far greater than what we were used to, but we would gladly make the drive twice a day and twice on Sundays if it meant keeping our children in this exceptional environment. We cannot thank Joanne and her team enough for providing the daycare experience we had always hoped for.   Due to moves, sporadic work schedule, etc. this is the 5th daycare that we have had the opportunity to experience. (Which sounds like a lot but we also have multiple children at various ages). We have been in daycare's that have more than one location (chains?), community college daycare's, private 1 facility locations and in home care. Hands down by far this is the best daycare experience that we have had. This is the right combination of excellent administration that is truly focused on your child succeeding while realizing, yes parents have to work and having standard hours to accommodate a work day; and teachers that genuinely love and care for the children (the ones that we have had here treat it as a profession to succeed in rather than a stepping stone to a real job). Those two things have made a huge difference in the care received. Other things that tip it over into awesome is that my children always want to go there, and the teachers spend a lot of time on developing amazing lesson plans where they are learning things I never would have expected at this age but in an environment that feels fun, not forced. The things that things that I was wishing it had compared to other daycare's we have went to: lunch included in the price, a quieter location that has opportunities for the kids to take walks and experience nature. After having been here for a year and a half, those things don't seem to matter as much; we have to make lunch for one of our kids in public school anyway so we throw together a couple more; the teachers really try to bring a lot of things into their lesson plans and so the kids are still learning about nature. The major concern that we have right now is with our child that is currently in pre-school here is that he is going to be bored for the first couple of years of public school due to the social and academic skills he has learned at Lake Forest Park Montessori.
