I would like to formally commend Ms. Tyra in Financial Aid for her exemplary service. She efficiently resolved an issue with my GI Bill within 24 hours and demonstrated extraordinary care to ensure a complete resolution. I rate my experience 5/5 and deeply appreciate her dedication.

I went to school back here in 2024, a lot of empty promises. Save your money. Even had an instructor tell me to “kill myself” at first I thought he was joking and the he said “no I’m serious” took out a loan for no reason, you can find a job that will teach you more. I asked for help to find a job (I hadn’t graduated yet) and the lady even told me that there were a lot of graduated students still unable to find a job.
Update- they gave me the wrong email to email them. They just sent me an invoice when I dropped out of school and they literally said I paid everything so I have no idea why they are trying to get more money out of me when i left in 2024.

Two stars. My son was somewhat pleased with the educational portion of the program, but everything outside the classroom has been extremely disappointing. We took out a loan, he was awarded a grant, and he received additional funding from a separate assistance program — three different sources meant to reduce his balance and return money to him to help repay the loan. The school has withheld all of these funds for months. They even claimed a separate check he received from school, as money he “owes” them and reduced his grant because of it.Their biggest selling point is that they help students find employment, but they have not followed through on that either. Staff turnover is constant, communication is nonexistent, and it feels like the only thing they truly care about is the money. For a school handling so many students, including those without guidance, this kind of financial mismanagement is extremely concerning.

My experience at Tidewater Tech for welding has been solid, especially when it comes to hands-on training. The program doesn’t just teach theory—they put you in real shop conditions where you’re actually running beads, working on joints, and learning how to control heat and consistency.
In the photo, you can see a clean weld bead with consistent ripple pattern and solid tie-in along the joint. That’s the kind of work you’re trained to produce here. The instructors emphasize technique—travel speed, torch angle, and puddle control—which really shows in the final result. They’re not just watching you weld; they correct you in real time so you improve fast.
Another thing I respect is the focus on industry standards. You’re not just welding for practice—you’re learning how to meet expectations you’ll see in the field. Whether it’s structural welding or preparing for certifications, they push you to get your welds clean, uniform, and structurally sound.
Overall, if you’re serious about getting into welding and want real hands-on experience, Tidewater Tech is a great place to start. You get the reps, the feedback, and the environment needed to build real skill—not just classroom knowledge.
