Our experience at Primrose Midlothian Village has been a complete 180 from our previous daycare, and we could not be happier. From day one, the administrative team has been incredible- always at the door or desk to greet families, consistently available, and genuinely helpful with any questions or concerns.
The teachers are truly what set this place apart. They are dedicated, reliable, and clearly love what they do. The low staff turnover speaks volumes, and it’s obvious how much they care about our son.
Communication through the app is timely and accurate, which gives us so much peace of mind throughout the day. The meals are another highlight- well-balanced, thoughtfully planned, and very kid-friendly.
We’re so confident in the care here that we’ve already enrolled our baby who is on the way. For the first time, we can drop our son off knowing without a doubt that he’s in the best hands. We are incredibly thankful for the entire team at Primrose for welcoming us with open arms and truly treating us like family.

We had a good experience at Primrose of Midlothian Village Daycare at first. The staff seemed caring, and my child was taken care of. However, as time went on, I began to notice a shift, and things started to go downhill after some management changes.
One of my biggest concerns was the emotional safety of my child. While they were generally well taken care of physically, I didn’t always feel that my child was emotionally safe. We faced months of where my child would cry on the way to school, and I couldn’t get clear answers as to why. I brought this up in several parent-teacher conferences/conversations and while they were always polite, I didn’t feel that my concerns were being taken seriously. It took multiple meetings before the staff finally admitted that bullying was occurring in his class—a realization that should have come much sooner, especially considering I had voiced my concerns about this from the start.
The daycare's policy also left much to be desired. Their approach to bullying wasn’t transparent, and I was never alerted about the incidents involving my child because “incident reports only occur when there’s a visible physical injury”. This lack of communication was extremely frustrating and left me feeling disconnected from what was actually happening at the daycare.
When it came to addressing concerns about screen time and the use of iPads, I found myself running into resistance. I was uncomfortable with the fact that iPads were introduced at such an early age (3) and unmonitored. When I raised concerns, I was met with strong resistance from the teachers. It seemed like they were more interested in defending their practices rather than listening to the valid concerns I had as a parent.
The daycare claims to be made up of childcare experts, but when issues arose, it often felt like they were more focused on justifying their methods than providing the nurturing environment they promise.

All 4 of our children have attended Primrose of Midlothian Village, starting in the infant class through private pre-K. The administrators and teachers prioritize creating an environment that encourages learning, engagement and safety and genuinely care about their students. We do not have experience with the explorer's before/after school program but I would highly recommend Primrose for anyone looking for early education child care!
