I filed a complaint with Virginia Department of Education about this school. I enrolled my son at Primrose School at Ironbridge Corner expecting a safe and supportive environment. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. Over an extended period of time, my son repeatedly reported being pushed, scratched, hit, and having his fingers bent backward by other children. In one incident, he complained of thumb pain for several days afterward. More recently, he reported being tripped, held down, and having multiple children pile on top of him, resulting in neck pain. I also became concerned about bathroom privacy. My son told me that other children would open the bathroom door while he was using it, to the point that he sometimes avoided using the restroom and would have accidents instead. As a parent, it was troubling to hear that he did not feel comfortable or safe using the bathroom at school. I raised these concerns multiple times over the course of more than a year, both in person and by email. Despite repeated reports, the incidents continued. I was often told that the children involved were friends, that it was rough play, or that staff had not observed the incidents. What concerned me most was not only the repeated incidents, but that my son eventually became reluctant to report problems and would sometimes hide incidents from me. He also began bringing home aggressive behaviors that he said he learned from other children at school. After many attempts to work with the school and repeated assurances that the situation would be addressed, I lost confidence in the school's ability to provide a safe environment for my child. I ultimately made the difficult decision to withdraw him from the program. Every family's experience may be different, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this school.

I have a 4 year old in PreK and a 2 year old in toddlers. Primrose is welcoming and all of the teachers and administrative staff are great. I find it to be a perfect balance of safety, fun, and education. My daughters love their teachers and they have shown improvement in independence and curiosity.
