I bought my son in to see about him doing summer school. The staff are not at all welcoming. And the lady who did his assessment was very condescending and just rude. They expect a certain type of child and are not willing to help all children be successful. Definitely not worth the money or time when all the staff are extremely stuck up and rude.

Before you make the final decision to enroll your child at Challenger School - Sandy Campus, I strongly urge you to take the time to read through all the negative Google reviews for this specific location. I can tell you firsthand that the issues raised in those negative reviews are real. If commuting is not an issue for your family, I highly recommend choosing a different Challenger location instead. To be completely honest, the front desk administrators and the classroom teachers at this location are good. They are dedicated and hardworking. However, when it comes to the Campus Director (Kristi) and Headmaster (Mary), it is a completely different story. You will be shocked by their arrogance and condescending, unprofessional and rude attitude which is simply unacceptable. If you are paying tuition expecting a school that helps you solve problems so you can focus your time and energy on your work, please think twice before choosing the Sandy campus. Otherwise, their poor management will only bring you unexpected trouble and endless headaches. For current parent, if you have similar negative experience, I think you should call Challenger headquarter and get the Executive region director’s Email and cc their CEO or upper (if you do not receive any solution) formally let them know how the Sandy Campus management doing! I will simply walk away and never come back Sandy campus.

Very concerning experience after showing up for a scheduled preschool tour. The director was late to meet us and required we completed a never-before-mentioned philosophical questionnaire (after providing basic intake info on another form) prior to us being allowed to tour. After explaining our discomfort with this never-once-communicated requirement, both she and the headmaster argued its necessity after deflecting, dismissing, and unprofessionally carrying out the conversation. The headmaster even said it was policy, despite Challenger's publicly available policies not stating this "policy" as a prerequisite to touring. The entire interaction was rude, abrasive, and compliance-focused. My spouse and I (both doctors) have never encountered such compliance-driven, surprise philosophical prerequisites for tours of preschools or medical schools, etc. Apparently, before discovering what a classroom looks like or what the curriculum entails (or even if their playground is shaded, which it's not), you must complete a questionnaire that doesn't even contain "Other" as an option to its line of questioning. Yikes.

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Challenger School - Sandy,UT . The teachers are attentive and truly invested in the students’ growth, both academically and personally. The curriculum is strong and keeps kids engaged while encouraging independent thinking and confidence. The school places a strong focus on STEM activities, including science fairs, math competitions, the AMC Math Exam, and Math Kangaroo, along with creative events like the Art Fair and Young Author . They also work hard to make students independent by teaching them how to take notes, manage their homework, and develop good study habits. Overall, we’ve seen tremendous growth in our child and truly appreciate the supportive and challenging learning environment at Challenger School.

We had a very disappointing experience with Challenger School in Sandy. We arrived hoping to tour the school, learn more about the curriculum, and discuss whether the program would be a good fit for our child’s educational goals. Instead, the interaction quickly became focused almost entirely on an intake/compliance-related form that we were told had to be completed before we could proceed with a tour. When we expressed concerns about some of the questions and asked to first learn more about the school, curriculum, and overall philosophy, the headmaster and program coordinator were unwilling to move forward unless the form was filled out. Rather than listening to our concerns or engaging in a meaningful discussion about the program, they held firmly to the requirement and ultimately dismissed us without allowing a tour. The experience felt rigid, impersonal, and dismissive. We left without having our questions answered and without being given a chance to understand the school beyond its paperwork requirements. For a prospective family trying to evaluate an educational environment, this was very discouraging.
