My kiddo has been out of this facility for a few months now but I figured I’d write this for anyone looking for a genuine review. The facilities are great and the atmosphere felt so welcoming and clean. My issues lied with the policies set in place for 3 year olds. The biggest issue we had was that my toddler was not potty trained for sleep yet. The school basically said they would not make any accommodations and their solution instead was to wake my kiddo up mid-nap. My kiddo is not a very good sleeper as it is and we were thrilled that they were actually sleeping, but them being woken up defeated the purpose. My kiddo also had a major potty regression maybe with the environment being new and came home 4 days in a row in pee soaked clothing. It feels like the school is forgetting what’s developmentally appropriate for toddlers since toddlers are supposed to gain that sleep control between the ages of 3 and 5. It wasn’t fair to my kiddo to have to come home soaked in pee. Lastly the facility posted photos of my child online after we explicitly signed every document saying we do not want photos of our children online. When I raised the concern a staff member told me that it was because we were so new to the facility that she didn’t know we weren’t okay with it. That solidified our decision almost immediately to withdraw our kiddo. That was the first and only time my kiddo’s face had ever been posted to the internet and it wasn’t a family member or their own parents - it was the school who made us sign papers stating whether or not we allowed this and we said no. I really wanted to like this place and heard so many good things but ultimately it was not a good fit for our family.

Unfortunately, despite great curriculum and amazing teachers, we cannot recommend Primrose School at Alamo Ranch based on our experience. Our son, Damian, suffered a serious hand injury at the fire exit door while attending this daycare that resulted in a partial fingertip amputation and nail removal. No parent expects to receive that kind of phone call, and it completely changed the way I evaluate childcare safety. After the accident, I paid much closer attention to the facility and noticed a concern that I believe deserves immediate attention. Most of the exterior fire exit doors are fitted with standard lever handles that a toddler can operate. While I understand these doors are emergency exits, I was surprised there was no additional child-safety measure to prevent a young child from opening them unsupervised while still allowing emergency egress. That presents an unnecessary safety risk in a building full of curious toddlers. Children this young rely entirely on adults and on the environment being designed to protect them. When one serious injury has already occurred, it naturally raises questions about whether every reasonable step is being taken to reduce preventable risks such as increasing number of teachers in the room or upgrading their fire exits doors. My intention in sharing this review is not to discourage quality childcare providers, but to encourage the highest possible standards where children’s safety is concerned. I hope the school demonstrates genuine accountability by conducting a thorough review of its facility, safety protocols, supervision practices, and any environmental hazards that could put children at risk. Families place extraordinary trust in a daycare to provide not only education and care, but a safe environment. That trust can only be restored through transparency, meaningful corrective action, and a clear commitment to preventing another child from experiencing what ours did.

My wife and I highly recommend this daycare for your little ones. Our son loves this daycare and we feel safe having him here. They treat all of the kids well and have a great curriculum for kids. The daycare is also very clean and they maintain the building well including the playground. They also do a great job of making sure that kids are healthy throughout their stay.

We have had an amazing experience at Primrose. The staff members are professional, kind, and patient. I thoroughly enjoy the daily updates on our children's progress and being kept informed when they reach critical developmental milestones. The extracurricular activities are well-planned and offer many wonderful opportunities for parents to share special moments with their children. I highly recommend this school!

Primrose staff and teachers have been amazing since day 1. They are very friendly and professional. My child been enrolled for 3.5 years now and I love how interactive they are with the kids and always fun holiday events. Hands down best daycare in San Antonio they really care for the kids. We tried several others daycares prior and were unhappy until we switched her to primrose I highly recommend!
