We enrolled our daughter at Primrose Southwest expecting a nurturing start to her early education. Instead, it was one of the hardest experiences we've had as parents. She'd happily attended daycare since she was 4 months old, so we know what a normal adjustment looks like. This wasn't that. She cried at drop-off every single day, and on multiple occasions no teacher came to help receive her from us. We were left holding a sobbing child with no support. They called us to ask how to comform a toddler, I had to tell them please read a book, give her hugs and she will calm down. The classroom itself was loud and chaotic, and our daughter told us, more than once, that teachers shouted at the kids, which we also witnessed ourselves. Several staff members felt cold rather than welcoming, and the lead teacher seemed consistently unsure of herself, which showed in how unsettled our daughter became. When we raised the shouting directly with the assistant director, she explained it away by saying the room is noisy and teachers need to speak loudly to be heard. But there's a clear difference between projecting your voice and shouting at a child, and regardless of the reason given, kids learn from the behavior adults model for them. This wasn't an isolated response either: almost every time we raised any concern, we were told some version of "that's your child's problem, not ours." It wasn't just our daughter who seemed affected, either. We regularly noticed other children who seemed stressed and fearful around the teachers during drop-off and pick-up. It wasn't the kind of ordinary separation anxiety you'd expect from toddlers being dropped off, but something that looked more like real unease around the adults in the room. A school this dismissive of parent concerns is not one we could trust with our daughter's early emotional development. We eventually withdrew her and enrolled her elsewhere. The difference has been night and day: drop-offs are easy now, and she genuinely loves going to her new school. If you're looking for a warm, emotionally attuned environment and confident, consistent instruction for your toddler, we can't recommend Primrose Southwest.

Our child changed for the better when we switched her over from her old daycare! There are many days she doesn't want to leave, she's having so much fun! Her teachers are so good and patient with her. She has big emotions and they really work with her on managing those. I also appreciate her diaper change routine being adhered too. Her rashes decreased dramatically from when she was at her old school! This is a huge blessing for us and a major pain reliever for her!! Getting updates throughout the day on the app is also a game changer. It puts my mind at ease and helps to see her smiling face, knowing she's ok and having fun! The nap time pics are the best :) I'm so happy with our decision to move her here and look forward to having our second baby on the way attend next year! Thank you for all you do. This is no easy job and it means the world to us to know our child is safe and in great care.

My son has been at Primrose School of Southwest Austin for almost four years and today is our last day before he goes to Elementary School. Over the years it has been amazing to watch him learn and grow. The staff is exceptional and truly care about each and every child. We love receiving pictures of their daily activities and of the kids having fun! They are patient, kind, warm, loving and foster such a positive learning environment. We have made so many wonderful memories here and will truly miss seeing everyone daily. It is very bittersweet to leave such an amazing place but I am so happy we were able to have been a part of it. We cannot thank the teachers and staff enough for taking such great care of our son and would absolutely recommend Primrose School of Southwest Austin time and time again!
