The school was established in 1979 as Control Data Institute. In 1985, Hi-Tech Corp. acquired the school, and its name was changed to the Memphis Institute of Technology. Concorde Career Colleges, Inc., purchased the school in November 1988, and, in 1989, its name was changed to Concorde Career Institute.The Medical Assistant program was first offered in 1990, and the Medical Office Professional program was added in the spring of 1991. In January 1995, the Dental Assisting program was added to the curriculum, followed by the Pharmacy Technician program in April 1997. A Nurse Aide Training program was added in October 1998 and a Respiratory Therapy program in March 2000, making Concorde Career Institute a total allied healthcare college.
