  Attending the Toni & Guy Cosmetology Program at Penn Commercial has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The instructors genuinely care about their students’ success and create an environment where you can grow both professionally and personally. I’ve gained so much confidence in my skills, learned industry techniques that prepare me for a real salon career, and built friendships that I’ll carry with me long after graduation.   I'm writing to share a comprehensive overview of experience at Penn Commercial/Toni and Guy, highlighting several significant concerns that have impacted my education and that of other students. A primary issue revolves around the substantial inconsistencies in the educational plans and teaching methodologies. It has become a common occurrence for students to spend considerable amounts of time either sitting idle without structured lessons or being assigned what can only be described as 'busy work.' This practice is particularly frustrating because it detracts from the crucial time we should be spending learning new, essential skills and advanced techniques vital for our professional development in the industry. The curriculum often feels stagnant, and there's a clear lack of progression in teaching the required material. This problem is further exacerbated by the frequent absence of instructors or, when present, a noticeable disengagement from their teaching responsibilities. There are many days when teachers either do not come to school or fail to provide adequate instruction and guidance, leaving students without the mentorship and direction they need to advance. This directly undermines the quality of education we are supposedly receiving and makes it incredibly difficult to stay motivated and feel prepared for our future careers. The expectation is that we will be taught by qualified professionals who are committed to our learning, and unfortunately, this has not consistently been the case. Beyond the academic concerns, there are also ongoing issues regarding student compensation for lack of education that have created financial strain and a sense of unfairness. These problems have been a source of significant frustration for many students.The learning environment often feels neglected, which not only impacts morale but also raises questions about the school's commitment to providing a professional and safe space for its students. Addressing these concerns comprehensively would greatly improve the educational experience for current and future students. Unfortunately, these concerns have consistently been met with inaction from the administration when brought to their attention!
