Over the past few months, it has been heartbreaking to watch Chesterbrook Academy go so far downhill. We have had our children enrolled there for 2 years and what was once a warm, welcoming school now feels like a place where leadership simply doesn’t care. The teachers have always been the heart of this school, and they continue to work incredibly hard. Unfortunately, it’s clear that they aren’t being supported. Since the leadership transition, the atmosphere has completely changed. The principal, Nafeesa, comes across as cold and unapproachable. She rarely speaks to families or interacts with the children, and she often seems to be in her office or off campus rather than visible throughout the school. The condition of the building has also noticeably declined. The mouse problem appears to have gotten worse, and I’ve heard there was a recent report of mold. For such a beautiful facility, it’s disappointing to see it being maintained this way. I’ve also witnessed things that made me question whether my children were receiving the supervision they deserve. On one morning during drop-off in the toddler program, there were eight children with one teacher who was sitting on a shelf using her phone. I immediately took both my kids home. On other occasions during pick-up, I’ve seen teachers roaming the halls or on their phones instead of actively engaged with the children. Thankfully, we had been accepted by another childcare center and pulled our kids. Leaving wasn’t an easy decision, but I no longer felt confident that my children were in the safe, attentive environment they deserve. It’s incredibly sad because this school has so much potential, and the teachers truly care. I sincerely hope the leadership takes these concerns seriously before more families feel they have no choice but to leave.

Caring, safe, and fun! My daughters love going to school every day at Chesterbrook Ellis Preserve. The administration is kind and responsive, the teachers are wonderful, and the curriculum is a great mix of play and literature-based instruction. My girls have made deep connections with their peers, learned valuable social emotional skills, and are gaining an education that will prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond. I would recommend Chesterbrook Ellis Preserve to anyone looking for a high quality preschool in the area.

We are so thankful to have switched here. My son had an eating solids delay and Miss Kelly and Miss Brianna were SO supportive and totally helped my son turn a corner.

Used to be a great school, but not anymore since it’s under the “leadership” of the new Principal, Mary Ellen. Emailed the Principal on so many instances with many follow-ups, but never received any respond (not even a single word reply). No communication of staffing change/turnover, newly hired staffs (since ME joined) are all pretty bad (you can tell they don’t care, yelling at kids left and right, spend more time on their phone than with the kids etc.). worst yet, school has been expanding like crazy while they can’t stop the turn over and not able to hire quality staffs; the facilities has gotten pretty dirty/rundown and kids are gotten sick a lot more frequent than before. Avoid at all cost.
