  We entrusted Primrose School of Exeter with our two children because we believed in the Primrose reputation and its promise of a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. Unfortunately, by the time we left, our experience was very different. Over our time there, we observed significant turnover among both leadership and classroom teachers. When we first enrolled, the school had several experienced, engaged leaders and teachers who seemed genuinely invested in the children. Over time, much of that consistency disappeared. This became especially concerning with our four-year-old son. We hired a behavioral interventionist at our own expense to work collaboratively with Primrose and develop strategies to support him during a period of constant teacher turnover when challenging behaviors were observed. After a relatively stable period, his teachers were once again replaced, and we saw a significant increase in behavioral challenges, which only were observed at the school. Our interventionist proactively offered to train the new teachers on his behavioral support plan to maintain consistency. The Director declined the offer, stating that reviewing his plan would be “too overwhelming” for the new teachers while they were acclimating to the classroom. We later became aware of serious concerns regarding our son’s treatment at the school that ultimately caused us to withdraw him immediately. We have reported those concerns to Primrose Corporate and the NH Child Care Licensing Unit for independent review. Unfortunately, our experience did not end with his withdrawal. The owner insisted that we owed an additional 30 days of tuition despite the circumstances surrounding our son’s immediate removal. Approximately one month after his withdrawal, Primrose charged approximately $2,000 to our bank account. We did not authorize that withdrawal and dispute both the charge and their assertion that this additional tuition was owed. Prospective families should be aware of the school’s position regarding its 30-day withdrawal policy, even after they themselves stated they could not provide a safe environment for my child, and understand how their payment information may be used following withdrawal. We also frequently found our younger daughter moved among different classrooms without communication. There were occasions when we had to go from classroom to classroom simply to locate her at pickup. We were disappointed by the amount of staff turnover and what we felt was an overreliance on scripted, iPad-based curriculum rather than meaningful teacher-child interaction, particularly given the premium tuition. There ARE individual teachers at Primrose who are wonderful, compassionate people, and we will always be grateful for the teachers who genuinely loved and supported our children. Unfortunately, good individual teachers cannot compensate for broader concerns with leadership, staffing stability, communication, and consistency of care. Every parent deserves to feel confident that their child is safe, supported, and treated with dignity. By the end of our experience at Primrose School of Exeter, we no longer had that confidence. **as of 8/12/26, it appears the owner may have done the right thing to refund the unauthorized payment given our unique experience and circumstances. My hope is this clears the air in regards to tuition.

  Our daughter started here at 18 months, and attended for a year. We are only leaving because we are moving out of the area, otherwise she'd stay forever. The staff truly cared for our daughter like she was theirs. We always knew she was safe and well cared for here. The teachers all took time to make a special bond with our daughter. We love their curriculum teaching kindness and exploration. Our daughter loved doing amazing athletes. We are truly saddened to be leaving Primrose.

  When we first started, things were great, the building is very clean and spacious, and Ms. Bri was always so joyful greeting us at the front everyday. She learned my children's names so quickly and was the best part of our morning! After a few months, things started to shift where we started to experience new teachers almost constantly.This meant by daughter started to get very upset at drop off and she was no longer comfortable. I started to witness teachers being unsupported and clearly overwhelmed. I stopped showing up with my daughter and gave our notice. I reached out to the owner to discuss a few things, she never replied, I followed-up, she never replied. It wasn't until I escalated the conversation copying other staff members on the email, that she finally responded. When she finally responded, she quoted the handbook multiple times, so I quoted the handbook back to her '"When feedback is provided, our team will follow up promptly via email to discuss concerns and explore possible solutions' - she was not even following her own handbook, but holding me to the handbook. It was honestly shocking to see how she was treating me regarding the departure and the concerns I raised. This childcare community in Exeter is small and tight knit, and sadly I am not alone in my experience with the owner. I think the teachers have typically been great, I think the turnover is a leadership issue, based on my experience with the owner.

  We have had the pleasure of using Primrose schools in two states (GA and NH) and we have been nothing short of blown away by how well they have cared for our children. Currently, we have a two-year-old at Primrose in Exeter. She is welcomed and loved by the teachers and the kids. We feel that it is a safe place to bring our daughter, but beyond that -,they consistently exhibit a structured environment and work on learning, exploring, and social skills rather than just babysitting. We have high standards for our kids and they exceed all expectations. Would highly recommend!

  We love the quality of education at Primrose, and the sense of belongingness created by the teachers and staff. I love that my children are learning academically and learning how to be good humans in the world.
