If your child is neurodivergent, or if they need additional support with emotional regulation, I would encourage you to carefully consider whether this is the right environment for your family. Based on our experience, Primrose was not equipped to support a child whose needs fell even slightly outside the neurotypical range. My son was a "lifer" at Primrose. He attended from the time he was six months old, and if you had asked me a year ago whether I would ever leave a negative review, I would have laughed in disbelief. We trusted the school, appreciated many of the teachers, and fully expected him to complete his time there. As he transitioned from Pre-K to Kindergarten, he began experiencing some emotional regulation challenges. He is incredibly bright but not neurotypical. We took those concerns seriously. We maintained open communication with the school, responded whenever they contacted us, worked with him consistently at home, and placed him on multiple waitlists for occupational therapy. Once we were able to begin therapy, we actively participated in helping him develop the skills he needed. Our plan was for him to attend the Explorers summer program three days a week before moving on to elementary school. Instead, we were told the school could no longer meet his care needs because of his emotional regulation, despite the fact that he had shown significant improvement and had not experienced a major incident in quite some time. The decision was presented as being "what was best for him." From our perspective, it was incredibly difficult to understand how excluding a child from spending one final summer with the only school, teachers, and friends he had ever known could be considered in his best interest. We asked the school to reconsider, especially given the progress he had made and the professional support he was receiving, but they stood by their decision. Today, after leaving Primrose, he is doing well. He has continued to make meaningful progress, and seeing him succeed has caused us to reflect on whether many of his challenges could have been better supported rather than viewed as reasons for exclusion. If your child is highly active, gifted, neurodivergent, or simply learns and regulates emotions differently than their peers, I encourage you to ask detailed questions about the school's ability to support those needs before enrolling. Primrose offers many strengths, but our experience suggests that when a child's needs extend beyond what is considered typical, the resources and support may not be sufficient.

Our family has been part of the Primrose School for years, and we couldn’t be happier with our own experience. From the moment you would walk through the doors, you can feel the warmth and dedication of the teachers and staff. As a locally owned and operated school at Primrose Woodbury there is a strong sense of commitment to each child’s growth and well-being. The owner is present and engaged. What sets Primrose School apart is its balance of academics, character development, and play-based learning. We’ve watched our child flourish—gaining confidence, building friendships, and developing a true love for learning. Childcare in Minnesota is not cheap and Primrose feels expensive, but truly I feel it is an investment and absolutely worth it. Knowing your child is in a safe, loving, and enriching environment gives me great peace of mind. If you’re looking for a school that truly feels like a second home, I highly recommend this school.

This is an amazing school with competent, caring, and kind educators. My son has been at Primrose for two years, and we just love this school so much. I wish they went beyond Kindergarten and I would keep my son here through high school. The school is very well setup and the leadership and owners invest so much into the curriculum and resources. Everyone who works here is genuinely happy to be there and loves their job. It's a lovely environment and I am so grateful to have found this school for my kiddo. If I could give 100 stars to Primrose of Woodbury, I would. I am forever indebted to the leadership and my son's teachers for the care, support, and education they've given him. So much heart and goodness at this school.
