GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIPS As an Applied Clinical Research student you will receive the necessary knowledge and skills to design, conduct and evaluate human clinical trials of medical devices. You will learn how medical device products affect the human body, how new products are developed and brought to market and how to design and conduct ethical and scientific medical research. Upon completion of this program, you will have the knowledge and competencies industry executives identify as essential to the successful clinical research leader including the science of medical research, medical product regulations, research ethics, study management and operations and risk management as well as effective communication and leadership. Program Highlights All courses are taught by industry experts with practical and leadership experience using real world examples and projects. Masters of Science degrees available as both a full-time and a part-time program. Graduate certificate option available. More than 75 percent of instructors are executive/senior management-level industry leaders. The remainder are seasoned managers and technical experts with 15-30 years of experience. Offered at St. Cloud State at Plymouth. Classes are available online through a synchronous Adobe Connect Internet connection. Courses offered weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. Master of Engineering Management, M.E.M.

The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program is offered at two Twin Cities, Minnesota locations: MEM in Plymouth and Executive MEM in St. Paul. MEM in Plymouth will prepare you for a managerial role. The course content is suitable to all engineering disciplines, as well as those working in science, technology and mathematics. You will learn from faculty who actively work with with local companies. For engineers wanting to pursue technical leadership roles, it is an alternative to the MBA degree. Program Highlights The program is offered at St. Cloud State at Plymouth and is also available online through a synchronous Adobe Connect Connection as well as in asynchronous mode through recordings of lectures. Designed for full-time students to complete the coursework in 12 months as well as part time and on-line students to complete the program on a part time basis in 18-24 months. Graduates of the program are eligible for obtaining American Society of Engineering Management's certified associate engineering manager (CAEM) title on graduation. Faculty partner with local industries to provide students with hands-on experience through applied courses. International students have come to the program from Nepal, Malaysia, India, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Thailand and other countries. Full time students are eligible to apply for graduate assistantships and on-campus jobs. International students are eligible to use 11 months of CPT for completing their capstone project. The MEM program is a STEM program and offers international students additional STEM OPT. Program Distinctions 1 of 5 master's programs in Engineering Management in the United States certified by the American Society for Engineering Management. Training engineers to be managers since 2002. All faculty members have doctorates and extensive industrial experience. Master of Public Administration, M.P.A.

The Master of Public Administration (MPA) is the professional degree for students seeking a career in public service or non-profit management and will prepare you as a leader or manager in the public or non-profit sector. You will develop skills and techniques used by public and non-profit managers to implement policies, projects and programs that resolve important problems within your organization or community. You will study a common set of core courses and choose elective courses in your concentration of interest. The program will serve your needs, whether you are a pre-service student or already working in the field and seeking to advance your career with greater responsibilities as a leader or manager. Program Highlights Most classes offered in the evenings to accommodate working students. Courses are offered on the St. Cloud State main campus, Plymouth campus, and online. Full-time students can complete the program in two years and part-time students can complete the program in three years. The cost of completing is about $15,000 or $400 per credit for students enrolled in on-ground courses. The cost for online courses is higher. Concentrations are offered in leadership and management of city and county governments, non-profit organizations, international development and health care administration. The curriculum is comprised of 25 common or core curriculum credit hours consisting of eight three-credit courses and a one-credit capstone course. Students also take four courses in their chosen concentration and, if a pre-service student, an internship. Program Distinctions Curriculum created with consultation of non-profit organization leaders, city and county managers from Central Minnesota and the Twin Cities. All faculty have doctorates, public administration experience, and their research interests include non-profit leadership, government, budgeting and international development.

As a student of Medical Technology Quality you will develop the tools and competencies to be an effective professional and leader in the field. You will learn the fundamentals of quality for the medtech industry, medtech regulatory impact, development and implementation of quality systems, design and manufacturing process development and validation and the overall management of quality for the industry.
