Very sad that only extremely rich people can afford a good education for their autistic child. You want to help autistic children but how many autistic children does this actually help with the tuition being over 30k per year. Thank god I found a good program for my high functioning daughter in public school. Absolutely ridiculous.

From the first phone conversation we had with the director about their mission and goals, we knew TAA fit with what we wanted to accomplish for our 10 year old son. Unlike the other Autism schools I had toured in Houston proper, TAA wants the children to succeed so they can function in society beyond just being a student. Our 10 year old son started in January and in a mere 5 months he has made friends, is going to birthday parties, and has play dates. The entire community surrounding TAA has made us feel welcomed. The teachers have this ability to get results while knowing how far to nudge without resulting in a meltdown.

Texas Autism Academy is awesome! These teachers have stepped out of their 20+ careers in the public school system to create a school to help all kids on the spectrum!! They are educating them on all levels of the TEKS performance standards and integrate Social Skills in every aspect of the day. In addition, they have a dedicated social skills timeslot in each day. Since our son has started, he has had the opportunity to have friends that really care about him and celebrate every accomplishment. He is able to share his fears and concerns and have loving support from everyone! Thank you to these awesome ladies who stepped out on a leap of faith and created this awesome environment for our children to learn, accel, create relationships, and enjoy school!! Both academically and socially!!
