Primrose was recommended to us by the co-owner of the engineering firm where I work. We were immediately impressed when we toured the school. We had been searching for a place with a strong early childhood curriculum that also allowed our kids to simply be kids. Since starting at Primrose, we’ve come to feel like part of the family. The teachers and staff have been fantastic with our two girls and have helped us navigate any challenges—or little ouchies—along the way.

The school is great and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My kids love going to school here and have learned a lot.

The quality of this school is going down daily. They called this morning saying that my child needs to be picked up immediately for threw some toys, or a teacher can’t control him, (being a boy basically). We have never had this issue before until a new teacher assigned to take care of his classroom. I was in touch with more than one former teacher at the school who confirmed that my child is fine but the new teacher and school are just being too much recently. I explain to them that today, unlike any other day, my wife is hospitalized and I’m far out of town for work. Till I be back and I’m able to discharge my wife and come home it’ll take to the end of the day. They seem not welling to cooperate and totally ignored our situation and demanded us to pick out child up immediately. UNBELIEVABLE. It looks like they’re adapting some new standard that wants to have boys with zero boyish behaviour. Does that surprise you these days?

I can’t even begin to say enough good things about Primrose of Cinco Ranch. We moved to Katy when my son was 17 months and big mommy and shy phase, they luckily had an opening in their toddler class and I was so overwhelmed starting my shy son in a new place. My son has flourished here, he is no longer shy and doesn’t even look back to say bye to me in the mornings. I’m beyond thankful for the happy and fun place for my son to go to every day and seeing all he has learned each day, which is a lot. I just had my daughter and we still send my son to daycare because he loves his teachers and friends, my daughter will be starting there in August and I’m excited to see all she learns from them. Being a working mom is hard, but for the first time I feel at peace with my decision to work because of Primrose. Another thing, they are super clean, my son does not get sick as often as he did at his previous daycare. The teachers and directors are all amazing people with great and warming personalities.

I suggest extreme caution when deciding to place your child with Primrose. We recently placed our 16 month old daughter at this location and found the experience wrought with communication failures, inability to manage expectations by the admin staff, and absolutely no love for the children by the teachers in the toddler room. We pulled our daughter out after only 2.5 days. I hesitate to use the word neglect but the word resonates with me as I write this review. The experience for us was torture. We went about the decision to place our daughter at this location with all the research and forethought that is expected of new parents. We interviewed the facility. We talked to the teachers. I held a special meeting with the teachers and admin personnel prior to my daughter attending the school to discuss my daughter’s dietary needs and her special needs regarding drinking from a cup. I spoke to the cook. I got a lot of “Yes” and “That shouldn’t be a problem” and “We can accommodate that request.” But when the time came for the school to show me and my husband that they could care for our daughter, they failed. I can understand forgetting to tell me she needed diaper cream even though I had stopped by twice on her first day to ask if everything was going well. What I cannot accept is actually watching the teacher leave my daughter screaming on the floor soaking wet from spilling her cup and having food particles on her shirt and telling me she’ll change her later after I, the parent, asked her to take care of my daughter. I have never felt such frustration and helplessness before. I do not understand an organization that would tolerate teachers that don’t care for children enough to maintain their sense of dignity. Maybe for older children this school is acceptable, but for children who cannot defend themselves or speak about their experience, go somewhere else. Do not consider this school for this age group (toddlers).
