This is the dumbest home school anyone has ever created, at least coming from another state.. his prior school had to send the transcripts over and over and they wouldnt accept them.. this put our son 2months behind and because of that he had to make up 170assignments in 2 weeks while in a soccer school or else he would be dropped from the school. That time wasted had a huge and negative impact his freshman year and has even effected soccer now in his sophomore year

Even though I believe is a great program, the register office have failed me badly. I’ve been leaving many messages and the new school has try to contact them for the transcripts, and nothing. Nobody answers my messages or calls. Every time I speak to someone, they give me the same numbers and extensions. It’s imposible and overwhelming honestly. I don’t know what else to do in order to contact these people.

This is my daughters first year in CAH, she started in the second semester. I was worried because I had read a lot of reviews and some weren’t good, but our experience so far has been awesome. I do want to stress though, this is NOT homeschool it is a virtual public school. There is a little wiggle room for working at your own pace but not much. You have a planner that tells you what lessons you need to complete every day and you need to log 25 hours a week. When you register you have to watch all the videos that explain all the steps taking attendance, running your scheduler, turning in work, and you’ll think “I got this” lol
The first day you sign in you’ll freak out!! It seems so confusing...but take a breathe, climb back out from under your desk and call your child’s homeroom teacher. Don’t over think everything just go step by step it’s really not hard. Now portfolios, when I first saw this I panicked what is it, where do we find it, and how the heck do I get it to the teacher. Another deep breathe...your child will do a lot of work that is not turned in along with a little quick check at the end of each lesson they’ll answer 3-5 question. A portfolio is like a small project most of the time it’s at the end of every unit. They’re not hard and there’s a dropbox you up load it to at the end of the lesson. Plenty of people say there’s no communication but my daughter is in the 7th grade and ALL of her teachers are excellent. They answers phone calls and emails quickly, we have never had a problem with responses from any teacher. There are live lesson almost every day some are mandatory but most aren’t. The best thing is they are recorded so if you miss one just go to the message board and watch it when you can. All of the teachers have separate tutoring times so your child can get extra help outside of the live lesson. A lot of the complaints I see are over the amount of time your child has to put in. Like I said in the beginning this is not a homeschool, you can not just laze around all week and spend one day on the weekend catching up. This school takes the same amount of time each day that a brick and mortar school would. Your child has to be motivated, they have to WANT to learn, and they have to want to park their butts in that chair and follow a schedule. You can not skip ahead on lessons(insert eye roll) why would you want to??? That’s like reading the last chapter of a book first, you have no idea what’s going on. If you’re stuck on a lesson don’t skip it CALL your teacher. If you’re looking for an alternative to regular public school but still want your child to learn the same curriculum (most of the time it’s more advanced) and be on track for college, this is an awesome choice. If your child does not want to put in an effort and you think they can spend an hour a day on school work and still pass, this is not the right choice.
