- JAJamili AbrahamMay 18, 20215.0Overall my family's experience at Fusion's UWS campus has been outstanding. My child thrived in the 1:1 classroom model. In the absence of in-person learning over the past year, I can't imagine a better situation for students than Fusion's approach. In spite of the stressors that families -- and especially our children -- have faced, the attention and nurturing that Fusion's faculty offered us was a reliable constant in our lives. And this experience is not limited to just this COVID-19 world in which we are now living; that presence and care existed at the UWS campus before all learning went virtual. I found my child's teachers to be always engaged, always prepared, and always open to feedback. Almost universally, when my child's energy or attention was lagging the teachers or mentors with whom she interacted shifted their approach, flexing the lesson plan and often their teaching style to re-engage her. It is this adaptability that most impresses me about Fusion's teachers and mentors, and you simply can't find it in other educational models. I can confidently say that while all staff members are clearly capable, some outshine others, as at any school. My child's truly exceptional teachers and mentors gave the clearest feedback in Fusion's daily reports (which, if I haven't mentioned, are a wonderful way to unobtrusively be a part of the learning process); held conversations in ways that suited my child's level in all ways (from things as simple as use of vocabulary to complex concepts of reasoning and philosophical thought); introduced subject matter in ways that initiated dinner table conversations; and left my child feeling confident and stimulated. There are still areas for improvement, and any great school will always be investigating these areas. Fusion UWS has always shown respect for and provided responses to any concerns I have ever shared with their administration. I highly recommend this campus to families looking for an intimate, one on one learning experience for their children.
