I withdrew my children from KinderCare after just one week due to serious safety and care concerns.
One afternoon when I picked up my 3-month-old son, I walked in and saw a teacher with her back turned, focused on a tablet. Because they were short staffed, classrooms often would be combined, and a bigger child was placed with the infants. That child was on top of my baby with a mat covering his face suffocating him while my son was screaming—and no one bothered to look. It was terrifying. I reported it, but only received an apology and no incident report was made.
I was also concerned about their food program. Parents aren’t allowed to bring outside food, but the meals provided didn’t feel appropriate for young children. One day they served refried beans with corn salsa and sourdough bread, which my one-year-old wouldn’t eat. Many times I picked her up and she was clearly just starving all day she would cry as soon as she saw me and told me she was hungry.
Overall, teachers are being overworked not enough staff I did not feel my children were safe or properly cared for, which is why I made the decision to remove them. I feel cameras should be a must in a daycare.

As a parent of an almost 3 year old, who has had to use daycare since my child was 6 weeks old, I have seen such a positive growth with this KinderCare location, in the past month.
Ever since Myiia and Kashmir have taken over, there has been a clear improvement in organization, family communication, and most importantly, family relationships where I know and trust my child is in a safe environment and is loved. My child’s infant teacher still works at the same location, and we are greeted with a smile and a wave, every morning as we walk to the toddler room. Her current teacher, Mrs. Karen and team, have done a great job at implementing a consistent routine based in academics and learning. I am updated almost hourly on what is happening with my child and her achievements for the day. There is hands on learning, painting, STEM activities, reading, learning letter names and sounds, and learning to work with their peers.
After this last month with new management, there has been an increase in parent accountability, and it has been felt within the safety of my child not being placed in rooms with students with severe, learned-at-home, behaviors. As they are toddlers, it is expected that accidents will happen, and I really appreciate that we are notified in the app, immediately, as well as given an incident report at pick up.
I really appreciate that when I walk in to pick up my child, I am immediately greeted with a friendly hello. Myiia knows my child’s name and how her day was, and communicates any important information with me right away. I am excited to see how much this center can grow under the great leadership. We have a great community of hard working families, and we deserve to have a daycare that treats us like family, educates our babies, and cares for us. I am so happy that I am seeing this happen now!
