Lincoln Tech would be good for those who have little to no experience, some of the instructors are good and have good knowledge to pass on to others. Some instructors are not suitable to teach classes. On the off chance your instructor is out for a day or multiple days, the substitute instructor will take attendance then proceed to fall asleep and snore the duration of the class. They pride themselves on the modules, however not all of the modules accurate or correct. Some classes are strictly modules with little to no shop time. You have to take everything with a grain of salt and understand you will be only taught on the basics of how to start in the field. Majority of the engines or machines you will be trained on already don't work and have not for a period of time. Some instructors teach you the wrong way to do things that put others at risk. Instead of placing jack stands on the front axle, the instructor told us to place them under the springs...Or they do not take the time to make sure the students are putting the parts, assemblies, or trucks back together correctly. Some classes left brake chambers loose, along with other key components, which in a classroom setting is fine because not everyone knows, but it is the job of the instructor to promote safety and ensure the work is done properly.

I’ve been attending this school for about 2 months now , i love the community in the school and the environment they create. I feel like at sometimes time is wasted when an instructor is out other than that a lot is learned

Attending Lincoln Tech has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The hands on training, real world learning environment, and supportive staff make it a great place to start a career in the trades. The school really helps you build confidence, skill, and discipline to prepare for life in the field.

This school is an absolute waste of money. If you notice, all the 5 stars seem to be posted around the same time. Why? Because they coerce the kids with “prizes” to write a 5 star review, 2 months into the program. The welding program is awful. The lady who gave my tour when I first signed up promised me and others there were certifications. My first day however, they told us she was lying. The instructors are practically useless, as someone with prior knowledge of welding.. everything they’re teaching you (at least what mine was teaching me) is backwards. All of the kids constantly steal each other’s things and there’s no punishment, you just have to completely restart. We were taught to use the Oxyfuel torch to cut our pieces (only had to ever cut barely anything in the time being) Which is one of the most ineffective ways to cut, I asked why we couldn’t use the bandsaw, they told me because they wanted us to know he to cut with the torch..Ok cool. Wrong. The saw apparently has been broken for months and they refuse to fix it, nice to see where my 30 thousand dollars are going. On top of that, we have to use coupons from other kids because we can’t cut out own pieces, all of our plates come from the scrap bin. If you’re thinking about coming here. DONT!
