Know of 3 families who left Primrose. I myself did not attend because their admin was such a mess they could not process my paperwork properly and I got off the waitlist at a much higher-rated school a few months after (thank gosh for their Admin being slow and not being able to figure things out "electronically" or I would have experienced being here for a while). Here are some things I have noticed:
1) when we were touring this school it was rated 3.4. If you look at all of the recent ratings you will find a surge of ratings from teachers who work here about 6 months ago. It seems they realized they are losing revenue and forced teachers to submit reviews. It's odd to me that employees would leave ratings when other child-care centers only have feedback from the families who receive childcare. Ratings are inflated --> take them with a grain of salt
2) high turnover. When we applied 3 months before my due date it was a completely different set of admin when we tried to actually sign up 6 months after my child was born. They could not figure out the paperwork and wanted me to come in physically for everything which is why we did not sign up here. I know of 3 families who have gone through multiple lead and assistant teachers in the same school year and quickly left
3) many stories of children being hurt and not being monitored to violent children being allowed in the classroom. For those looking for infant-care this won't be a huge concern but be warned if you have a toddler or an older child
4) no violence however if you do have an infant I would monitor your formula/breastmilk like a hawk. My friend's son was sent home 4 times with a full bottle and the teachers tried to put in the app twice that he was fed. Once caught they lied to her and said there is no way to retroactively put something in like that but she spoke to another teacher who said "of course we can do that!"
5) if you are a parent who is busy and prone to guilt do not sign up. They have a million "fundraisers" where they basically try to sell you junk. I was not even enrolled yet and they tried to invite me to a spring fling. I spoke to parents on the parent association or whatever it is called and they said the money doesn't even go to their kids but to different charities? I am all for that but to a parent who is prone to feeling "mom guilt" this would definitely raise some eyebrows --> especially as my current daycare would never dare to ask me week after week to buy useless gift baskets. For christmas they even send out cards with their teachers' names and what their favorite stores and gifts are. I give our head teachers gifts for christmas and the beginning/end of the school year but they don't ask for it and make it an expectation like this Primrose. Once I even asked for a list of teachers (because I thought this was the norm) and my current daycare didn't send it to me. Whether becaues they didn't want to overwhelm us with more around the holidays or because they frown upon asking for money --> either way it's a blessing and those who do want to provide monetary gifts can and those who don't won't feel guilted into it.
6) biggest warning is there is a ratio problem at this school. At it's peak there are more kids than the ratio allows (multiple times witnessed this and heard about it) and there is NEVER A WAITLIST. This is wild to me. My current daycare I cannot refer any families because the waitlist is too long. Most reputable daycares have a long waitlist - but Primrose? No waitlist! Though if you are not ready to join they will certainly make it seem like you may not have a spot available later on and will charge you money to hold your spot.
