  It’s disappointing to see so many negative reviews about AIMS. As a former graduate of Teterboro School of Aeronautics, I had hoped my nephew would consider AIMS as a strong starting point for his aviation career. After my time in the Air Force and years around aviation training, it’s clear that what’s being described here sounds like talk without real follow-through. It’s easier to maintain the status quo than to hold staff to the same standards expected of students, but that approach catches up quickly. Students are not an afterthought. They are the entire purpose of the program. If they’re treated like revenue instead of future professionals, that’s a short road to losing credibility. Students deserve exactly what they paid for. They don’t owe anything beyond their effort. That’s something worth remembering. Unfortunate :(

  PLEASE READ. STAY FAR AWAY! I don’t leave negative reviews without a valid reason. Unfortunately, my experience with this school was extremely disappointing and misleading. MISLEADING ADMISSION PRACTICES: Before enrolling, admissions was very attentive and checked in constantly. Once I signed up, that communication stopped almost immediately. They will tell you whatever they need to in order to get you enrolled, including claiming you can walk away freely within 30 days if the program isn’t for you. This is not true. Despite dropping the program and confirming multiple times that I was no longer enrolled, penalties were still applied and a loan continued in my name which I am now forced to fight off. They (Erick Madan) will pretend to not know they had said conversion and then they will say it’s a misunderstanding to try to scrape any kind of money from you. FINANCIAL AID ISSUES: The financial aid department offers very limited help beyond pushing you through FAFSA. When issues arise, responses are vague, generic, or avoided altogether. LACK OF SUPPORT AFTER ENROLLMENT: Once enrolled, student support drops off significantly. Staff who were previously responsive become difficult to reach and you are left chasing unanswered texts and emails. While there may be a few good individuals, there are also toxic admissions reps (Erick Madan) who negatively affect the experience. POOR EDUCATIONAL VALUE: The cost of this program is not justified. They poach on people wanting to jump into the aviation world by being the only known school in North NJ. The other schools are either in Queens NY or Upstate NY, both hours away and with wait times to get in. Much of the instruction consists of material that can easily be found for free through YouTube, Dauntless, Prepware, and other self-study resources. Paying around $50,000 to sit in a classroom and watch youtube is not worth it. MY FINAL ADVICE: I strongly recommend looking into an apprenticeship before considering this school. You’ll gain valuable experience / knowledge and get paid while learning. With proper logbook sign-offs, you can test for your A&P license after 30 months (or 18 months for one part of either the Airframe or Powerplant license). You’ll come out of the apprenticeship with a SOLID 30 months of real world experience rather than the 21 months of school debt and no guarantee of getting your license if you simply don’t pass your exams which you have to pay out of pocket and they are not cheap, they are at least $1000’s of dollars altogether if not more. The opportunities are out there and I am lucky enough to have come across one thus my reason for dropping the program. Please take your time to research and reach out to companies about taking on an apprenticeship opportunity. Don’t let this FOR PROFIT school SCAM you. Yes few students have come out of the program licensed and into great jobs in the field BUT they are the exception not the rule.

  I want to share my experience in Block 3, Instructor Karim is one of the best teachers I’ve had. He explains everything in a simple, easy way and always makes students feel comfortable asking questions. I struggled in the hangar at first, but he took the time to repeat the hands on projects with me until I got it right, and I felt really proud and confident. His hangar projects are fun, safe, and help us get comfortable with tools. He also makes helpful handouts for Aviation Laws, Regulations, and ATA codes, and he teaches extra skills like safety wire. He’s always early, prepared, respectful, funny, and very easy to talk to. I have seen many students go to him during breaks because they trust him. I’m really happy I had him as an instructor, he encouraged me to keep going with my A&P and focus on building a good career in aviation.

  I am concerned about the behavior of certain individuals, particularly Ahmed, who seems to be operating with an unprofessional attitude and appears to be on a power trip. This kind of conduct creates an uncomfortable environment. The treatment I have received from some instructors, who instead of providing constructive guidance, seem to target or provoke students. I’m honestly dissatisfied with the quality of education and overall experience of this school. I feel that the tuition fees I have paid do not reflect the value of the education being provided. The lessons are often insufficient, covering only the bare minimum or, in some cases, not providing meaningful content at all. This lack of substance is frustrating and does not meet the expectations that were set upon enrolling. As paying students, we deserve a more respectful and engaging learning environment where we can expect quality teaching and support that aligns with the tuition fees we are paying. I respectfully request that the institution address these issues and work to ensure that we are receiving the education we are entitled to.

  Theres an old saying, "A bad mechanic blames his tools." My personal experience with this school is amazing! Those that left bad reviews dont understand what these instructor go through day in and day out striving to teach kids who cant appreciate their hard work. There is no sugar coating the school, it is private and theyre lack of any government or state funding shows that. What they lack in they more than make up for with their instructors. If you take the time to ask questions they will do their best to help and ive been there many times. And for the one guy complaining about the "dean" I hope your not talking about Ed bennett because that man is the most straight forward and knowledgeable guy. When he always taught my class we rarely had questions because of how he laid out his teaching it was so easy to understand. All in all, we need to hear more positive reviews, these people deserve it.
