From day 1 at this center I was disappointed. First off, I’m a single mother working two full-time jobs. On the first phone call I had with Caroline I was told they had space and she could start as soon as I needed the care. I was also told that my daughter’s tuition thru the state was all set. It wasn’t until I received a call from a debt collector that the state tuition was never followed through with, along with not one person in administration letting me know. Every single day I would drop her off, she cried. Every time I picked her up, she was either crying still or playing by herself with her pacifier still in her mouth. Any photos I got she was by herself with the pacifier still in her mouth, indicating to me that she had been crying since I left and paci was probably given to her to get her to stop. Her “teachers” never made any effort to communicate with me regarding her day or even to say hello. Having 12 years experience in childcare myself I was extremely disappointed in the service of Kindercare. Not only were they only concerned about getting kids into the center without confirming her state tuition, but my toddler, whom almost never cries, was in tears at every single drop off and a majority of pick ups. She was there for maybe 2-3 months before I moved her to a new center where on day 1 there she didn’t cry at drop off or pick up. Safe to say, my own child, who was barely 2 at the time, was uncomfortable and was not comforted when she clearly needed it. I would not recommend this center to anyone, and I actually inform other parents who consider this place, of my experience and to look elsewhere.

As a mom, it can be hard to trust just anyone with your child and I couldn't ask for better caretakers for our daughter. We cannot thank the staff at KinderCare in Portsmouth enough for the amazing care that they have provided. Ms. Jenna, Ms. Haley & Ms. Nicole (we can’t leave out Ms. Caroline and Ms. Becca) truly love our daughter and treat her as their own. Their communication is fabulous and they are always there to help with any questions you may have. Our daughter has learned so much from them- from sensory painting, to animals, songs, sitting up and rolling over… there are even special events and celebrations throughout the month- the staff is always creating a memorable learning environment. We would highly recommend this daycare as a great place for your child, it’s easily the best child care facility in town.

Our 6 month old goes here, and is really happy. He gets tons of attention from his teachers—they often tell us about things they observe at school that we also see at home, which makes us feel like they really know him. He loves seeing Ms Kaylee, Ms Alison, Ms Stephanie, and we feel well taken care of.

People become childcare professionals because they love it…it’s one of the toughest jobs out there. We’ve had two daughters at Kindercare. My first graduated Pre K last year and was well prepared for Kindergarten thanks to the team’s curriculum. My youngest is currently at the school and receives so much love from her teachers Miss Emily, Miss Z and Miss Emma, as well as many of the other professionals outside her class. We also love Miss Caroline and Miss Stephanie. Every daycare has strengths and areas for improvement. What I love about Kindercare is they love my kids, they are well versed in development, and they do everything they can to support working parents with incredible flexibility. The center does cost more than others in the area and given the size of the center it can at times feel chaotic. I would never hesitate to recommend Kindercare of Portsmouth to families looking for a loving second home for their Kiddos. We are very grateful for everything they’ve done for our family.
