Mixed Experiences: Great Start for Our Oldest, But Infant Program Needs Serious Improvement
We have had a long relationship with Primrose School of Brassfield, and our experience has truly been a mix of excellent early years and significant concerns later on.
Our oldest son started in the Young Toddler class, and that experience was wonderful. Ms. Maple and Ms. D were exceptional—warm, communicative, and highly skilled. They helped our son become comfortable quickly, grow socially, and make noticeable progress in his language. When he moved up to Ms. M’s class, we had another great year with consistent care and a positive environment.
The challenges began once he transitioned into the Early Preschool program. Around that time, there seemed to be a shift in leadership and increased teacher turnover. While we understood there was a learning curve for newer staff, the overall experience did decline. In addition, there were small but concerning incidents—such as our son being left unsupervised long enough to start eating crayons, which are a choking hazard, and repeatedly losing water bottles. It’s unreasonable to expect a 3-year-old to keep track of their belongings without proper oversight, and these issues added to our growing concerns.
The most serious concerns arose when we enrolled our youngest in the infant program. We fully expect common illnesses in a daycare setting, but he was becoming sick after only a few hours of attendance—including two ear infections in three months. This resulted in sleepless nights, a miserable infant, and significant lost productivity from frequent sick days.
I raised these concerns with administration, but unfortunately no noticeable changes were implemented. Several preventable issues stood out:
Foot coverings for the infant room were old, some with holes, meaning the floor where babies crawl was likely being contaminated.
I never observed toys being disinfected between infant use.
Teachers from older toddler rooms were frequently brought in due to staffing shortages, increasing cross-exposure.
The infant room is very small, with babies clustered closely together.
Overall, infection-control practices felt inadequate compared with other schools.
Ultimately, we had to pull our infant from Primrose. Since starting at another school, he has been full-time for many weeks without a single illness, and we’ve seen a much stronger emphasis on sanitation—such as removing toys immediately for cleaning and using disposable foot covers. The teacher-to-infant ratio and engagement have also been noticeably better.
Despite our negative experience with the infant program, I do want to recognize the teachers themselves, who were always kind and doing their best. The core issues seem to stem from administrative support and oversight, not the individual staff members.
Primrose Brassfield was truly wonderful for our oldest during his toddler years, but our infant experience was extremely disappointing. I hope the administration takes these concerns seriously and invests in better infection-control practices, staffing stability, and support for their hardworking teachers.

We found this place after having a horrible experience at a different daycare. It had a drastic impact on my daughter's behavior. Seeing my daughter here vs the other place is like night and day. She truly thrives here.
The staff are super friendly and we were so thankful that they could accommodate our little girls needs. Our little one is 2, nonverbal, and on the spectrum. Needles to say, trying to find a daycare to meet her needs has been a bit of a challenge. She only requires a pacifier, headphones, and a slow transition at drop off/pick up, but again, it was not a problem for the staff.
This place has changed our home life for the better, more than they realize. My daughter has gone from not eating and experiencing several meltdowns every day (at the other place) to eating every day, smiles and happy squeals at pick up/drop off here at Primrose.
I truly believe that this place is worth every single penny and more.

Primrose School has been an amazing experience for my daughter! The teachers and staff are absolutely incredible—so patient, kind, and attentive. They genuinely care about the children and create a nurturing environment where every baby feels loved and supported.
I’ve been so impressed with how much they teach at such a young age, from sensory activities to early developmental skills. It’s clear that they’re passionate about what they do, and it shows in the happy faces of the children.
As a parent, knowing my daughter is in such capable hands brings me so much peace of mind. I couldn’t recommend Primrose School more highly to anyone looking for a safe, educational, and caring place for their little ones!
